The Local Government Unit of Batad through its Municipal Agriculture Office in partnership with the Iloilo Provincial Government’s Office of the Provincial Veterinarian-Iloilo, successfully conducted a free spay and neuter activity on October 10, 2025. The event was held at Barangay Bolhog Gymnasium, Batad, Iloilo. 🏫✨

During the activity, 5 dogs and 3 cats were spayed 🐕🐈, while 10 dogs and 1 cat were neutered 🐶🐱. Additionally, 3 dogs and 2 cats received free rabies vaccinations 💉🐾. Pet owners were provided with comprehensive orientation on the essential before-and-after care procedures to ensure the health and wellbeing of their pets. 📋❤️

This initiative would not have been possible without the dedicated efforts of all personnel involved. Special thanks are extended to the Barangay Bolhog personnel headed by Punong Barangay Ernan Ramos for providing the venue and facilities 🙏, Doc BJ Jalando-on of LGU Ajuy, the dedicated Provincial Veterinary Office Team, and SB Shian Janz Balete for attending the activity 👏. Most importantly, we thank the responsible pet owners who participated 🐕‍🦺💙.

Tomorrow is a great day to take a big step for your dogs’ and cats’ health. 🐶🐱 Please arrive early by 8:30 AM 🕣 if you plan to have your pets neutered or spayed. Remember to bathe them 🛁, ensure they have fasted ⏳, and bring a leash or carrier 🐕🧺 for their comfort and safety.

We’re also excited to offer free rabies vaccinations 💉🦠 at the same venue—Gymnasium of Barangay Bolhog, Batad, Iloilo. This is a fantastic chance to protect your beloved pets and contribute to the well-being of our whole community 🌟🏡.

𝘽𝙖𝙩𝙖𝙙 𝙈𝙖𝙧𝙞𝙣𝙚 𝙃𝙖𝙗𝙞𝙩𝙖𝙩 𝘼𝙨𝙨𝙚𝙨𝙨𝙢𝙚𝙣𝙩𝙨 🪸🐠
The Municipality of Batad in collaboration with the Municipalities of Ajuy, Anilao, Estancia, Carles and the Capiz Provinical Environment and Natural Resources Office (CaPENRO) conducted underwater habitat assessments across Batad's municipal waters to provide baseline data for the updating of the Integrated Coastal Resource Management (ICRM) plan.
Volunteer divers from the Municipal Agricultural Offices as well as Peace Corps volunteers assessed a total of 7 sites, evaluating the health and status of seagrass and coral ecosystems. The assessments were facilitated by the newly deputized municipal Bantay Dagat and the Municipal Agricultural Office of Batad.
We are greatly appreciative of the support from our neighbouring municipalities and province to aid in creating a in the future. We look forward to more opportunities for collaboration. 🌊
The data collected during these assessments will be processed by the office and the MFARMC and will be directly inputted into the ICRM plan as well as potential future MPA management plans. 📊

The Municipal Agriculture Office Batad proudly joined the World Rabies Day celebration 🐾🎉 held at Sityo Magalumbi, Brgy. Tanao, an initiative led by the Batad Primary Health Care. This event highlights our united commitment to raise rabies awareness, promote responsible pet ownership, and support ongoing dog and cat vaccinations in the community. 🐕🐈💉

Together, we aim to make this islet rabies-free by next year! 🚫🐕‍🦺 The celebration was also a great chance to share important info on rabies prevention, spay and neuter programs ✂️🐾, and the vital role of vaccinations in keeping both pets and people safe and healthy. ❤️🏥

With the support of the LGU Batad through its Primary Health Care and Agriculture Office, the BRCC, BNS, BHW and Barangay Officials, we are bringing essential health services closer to our community — working hand in hand for a safer, healthier Batad! 🤝💪🌿
