𝐋𝐆𝐔 𝐁𝐚𝐭𝐚𝐝 𝐣𝐨𝐢𝐧𝐬 𝐃𝐄𝐍𝐑-𝐂𝐄𝐍𝐑𝐎 𝐒𝐚𝐫𝐚 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐍𝐈𝐀 𝐢𝐧 𝐩𝐥𝐚𝐧𝐧𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐟𝐨𝐫 𝐀𝐥𝐚𝐩𝐚𝐬𝐜𝐨'𝐬 𝐬𝐮𝐬𝐭𝐚𝐢𝐧𝐚𝐛𝐥𝐞 𝐝𝐞𝐯𝐞𝐥𝐨𝐩𝐦𝐞𝐧𝐭

𝐋𝐎𝐎𝐊: The Local Government Unit of Batad reaffirmed its commitment to advancing the sustainable development of Alapasco through its participation in a consultative meeting convened by the Department of Environment and Natural Resources–Community Environment and Natural Resources Office (DENR-CENRO) Sara, in coordination with the National Irrigation Administration (NIA), at the CENRO Office in San Dionisio, Iloilo, held today, 24 August 2026.

The meeting centered on the proposed Integrated Area Development Plan (IADP) for Alapasco, which aims to provide an integrated framework for the sustainable development and management of the area. Discussions also explored the possible application for a Sustainable Forest Land Management Agreement (SFLMA) in support of the municipality's proposed eco-tourism development in Alapasco.

Representing the LGU Batad were Municipal Mayor Elvira P. Alarcon; Vice Mayor Steven Michael Y. Andrada; MCR Reynold Sandoy; MPDC Ma. Theresa D. Sayat; MENRO Samuel B. de la Vega; and OIC-Tourism Officer Daniel De los Santos.

The consultative meeting provided an avenue for the LGU Batad, DENR-CENRO Sara, and NIA to exchange insights, clarify concerns, and identify areas for collaboration in advancing the proposed development of Alapasco.

Ang Department of Health nagpatigayon sang Measles-Rubella Supplemental Immunization Activity ukon MR-SIA sini nga Agosto 10 tubtob Agosto 28, 2026. Ini nga programa nagahatag sang libre nga bakuna kontra tigdas kag rubella para sa mga kabataan nga 6 ka bulan tubtob 59 ka bulan ang edad.

Ang tigdas isa ka masakit kag madali maglapta nga balatian. Ang rubella mahimo man maghatag sang komplikasyon, ilabi na sa mga nagabusong nga babayi kag sa ila ginadala/ ginabusong nga bata. Paagi sa pagbakuna, mapabakod naton ang proteksyon sang aton mga kabataan kag komunidad.

𝐀𝐧𝐠 𝐌𝐑 𝐯𝐚𝐜𝐜𝐢𝐧𝐞:

• Luwas kag epektibo, suno sa DOH.
• Nagahatag sang proteksyon batok sa tigdas kag rubella.
• Nagabulig nga malikawan ang paglapta sang sakit sa pamilya kag komunidad.

Bisan nabakunahan na ang bata sang una, ginapangabay gihapon ang mga ginikanan kag guardian nga dal-on ang ila anak sa MR-SIA kung yara sila sa target nga edad. Ang Supplemental Immunization Activity ginahimo agod mapataas ang proteksyon sang mga bata kag malikawan ang mga outbreak.

Mga ginikanan kag guardian, indi naton paghulaton nga magkasakit pa ang aton mga bata.

The Sangguniang Kabataan Council of Brgy. Caw-i, Batad has been named 3rd Place in the Most Outstanding Sangguniang Kabataan (SK) Council – 2nd to 4th Class Municipality category of the 2026 PARAGONS: Bugal Sang Iloilo.

Caw-i, Batad was among the Top 3 finalists, together with Brgy. 3 Poblacion, Igbaras and Brgy. Zone I, Poblacion, San Enrique.

The awarding ceremony was held on August 22, 2026, at Casa Real de Iloilo, Iloilo Provincial Capitol, Gen. Luna Avenue, Iloilo City, where the award was received by the SK Council of Caw-i, headed by SK Chairperson Hon. Demetrio Azuelo, together with MLGOO Engr. Regil Gumayan and LYDO Designate Sweden D. Abalorio.

The PARAGONS recognizes SK Councils that demonstrate meaningful and effective youth governance. The assessment covered Functionality; Plans, Budget and Reports; Capacity Development; Innovation; and Linkages, based on the Council’s performance and accomplishments during the first semester of 2026.
