π‹πŽπŽπŠ: Coast Guard District Southern Tagalog (CGDSTL) formally reaffirmed their commitment to the service during an Oath-Taking Ceremony for Re-enlistment today, 01 June 2026 at Headquarters Coast Guard District Southern Tagalog.

More than a ceremonial tradition, the Oath of Re-enlistment signifies a renewed commitment to uphold the highest standards of professionalism, integrity, and dedication in the performance of duty. It serves as a reminder of the responsibility entrusted to every Coast Guardsman to faithfully carry out the mandate of the Philippine Coast Guard and serve the Filipino people with honor and loyalty.

In his message, Captain Airland Lapitan PCG , Acting Deputy Commander CGDSTL encouraged the re-enlisted personnel to embrace the responsibilities that come with another term of service. He emphasized that re-enlistment is not only a commitment to the organization but also a pledge to the Filipino people. β€œAs you embark on another three years of service, stand ready to meet every challenge with discipline and determination. Let every mission you undertake, every order you carry out, and every action you take reflect your loyalty to the Republic and your dedication to the Filipino people,” he stated.

By choosing to continue their journey in public service, these personnel reaffirm their unwavering dedication to safeguarding lives and property at sea, promoting maritime safety and security, and supporting the nation's development. Their decision to re-enlist reflects their steadfast commitment to the Coast Guard's mission and their enduring resolve to serve the country with courage, honor, and selfless devotion.

π‹πŽπŽπŠ: Coast Guard Sub-Station (CGSS) Lian personnel actively participated and provided security and safety assistance during the Ceremonial Mangrove Planting Activity held at Brgy. Binubusan, Lian, Batangas today May 30, 2026.

The activity was organized by the Ramon Aboitiz Foundation, Inc. (RAFI) under its One to Tree Program in partnership with the ICTSI Foundation, in coordination with various government agencies and stakeholders.

Approximately two thousand (2,000) mangrove seedlings/propagules were planted by volunteers, partner organizations, and local stakeholders. The activity highlighted strong collaboration among the Local Government Unit of Lian, Provincial Government Environment and Natural Resources (PGENRO) Batangas, Department of Environment and Natural Resources (DENR), Community Environment and Natural Resources Office (CENRO) Calaca, Municipal Environment and Natural Resources Office (MENRO) Lian, Philippine National Police Lian, and the Samahan ng mga Mangingisda ng Binubusan.

This initiative supports ongoing mangrove rehabilitation efforts and strengthens multi-sectoral cooperation in the protection and preservation of coastal ecosystems in Batangas.

π‹πŽπŽπŠ: Headquarters Coast Guard District Southern Tagalog (HCGDSTL), through the Special Operations Group–Southern Tagalog (SOG-STL), successfully conducted a three-day Marksmanship Training from 27 to 29 May 2026 in Lipa City, Batangas.

The activity aimed to enhance the participants’ fi****ms proficiency and operational readiness through actual firing exercises and the practical application of marksmanship fundamentals. The training likewise emphasized the importance of proper gun safety, strict adherence to fi****ms rules and regulations, and responsible weapon handling.

Olo-Olo, Lobo, Batangas last 28 May 2026.
The activity was spearheaded by the Bureau of Fisheries and Aquatic Resources (BFAR) in partnership with the Philippine Coast Guard, Department of Environment and Natural Resources (DENR), Local Government Unit of Lobo, and other partner agencies and stakeholders committed to promoting environmental protection and marine conservation.

During the activity, participants successfully collected 30 sacks of assorted waste, including cigarette butts, glass bottles, food wrappers, and other plastic materials scattered along the coastal area and underwater surroundings. Through this initiative, CGDSTL further strengthened its support for environmental protection efforts and marine conservation programs aimed at maintaining clean and sustainable coastal communities.

The activity also highlighted the importance of cooperation among government agencies, stakeholders, and local communities in preserving the country’s coastal and aquatic resources under the advocacy of β€œMalinis at Masaganang Katubigan.”

π‹πŽπŽπŠ: Coast Guard Sub-Station (CGSS) Laurel successfully conducted a Tabletop Exercise (TTX) and Search and Rescue Exercise (SAREX) on 27 May 2026 at Taal Lake Central Fish Port, Laurel, Batangas, in coordination with partner agencies and local responders.

The exercise simulated an alleged missing person incident in the vicinity waters off Brgy. J. Leviste, Laurel, Batangas, aimed at enhancing operational preparedness, inter-agency coordination, and emergency response capabilities during maritime emergencies.

Participating agencies included CGSS Laurel, MDRRMO Laurel, Laurel MPS, BFP, Barangay J. Leviste responders, SOU Technical Divers, and DS Personnel.

The activity featured surface and underwater search operations, victim retrieval, and the administration of CPR and Basic Life Support (BLS), culminating in the successful rescue of the simulated victim.

The exercise concluded with a post-activity debriefing to assess operational performance and strengthen future emergency response coordination.

π‹πŽπŽπŠ: A courtesy call was rendered by distinguished graduates of the Philippine Merchant Marine Academy (PMMA), together with maritime industry stakeholders from various maritime organizations and companies within Batangas City, to Commodore Geronimo Tuvilla PCG, Commander, Coast Guard District Southern Tagalog (CGDSTL), on 27 May 2026 at the Headquarters, CGDSTL.

Representatives from the harbor pilot sector, towage and salvage companies, port and terminal operations, marine transportation services, technical marine services, and other maritime-related industries participated in the activity.

The meeting served as an avenue to strengthen partnership, camaraderie, and future collaboration between the Philippine Coast Guard and key maritime stakeholders in the region.

Discussions focused on initiatives aimed at enhancing the capability of Philippine Coast Guard personnel in enforcing maritime laws, rules, and regulations, as well as improving operational coordination, contingency planning, and response readiness during maritime emergencies and incidents.

The activity likewise reaffirmed the shared commitment of the Philippine Coast Guard and the maritime sector toward promoting maritime safety, security, and marine environmental protection within the Southern Tagalog maritime jurisdiction.

π‹πŽπŽπŠ: The Office of the MIMAROPA Regional Court Manager (ORCM), headed by Atty. William A. Beluso Jr., paid a courtesy call to the Commander, Coast Guard District Southern Tagalog (CGDSTL), at Headquarters CGDSTL on 26 May 2026.

The visit further strengthened inter-agency coordination and partnership between the Philippine Coast Guard and the Judiciary Sector within the MIMAROPA Region. During the meeting, Commodore Geronimo Tuvilla PCG, Commander, CGDSTL, presented the mandate, functions, and operational capabilities of the Philippine Coast Guard, particularly in the areas of maritime safety, maritime security, law enforcement, search and rescue, marine environmental protection, and inter-agency support operations.

Commander, CGDSTL assured the ORCM delegation of the Philippine Coast Guard’s full support and commitment, emphasizing the importance of strong collaboration in ensuring efficient public service and the effective administration of justice in maritime and island communities.

For his part, Atty. William A. Beluso Jr. expressed his sincere gratitude to the Philippine Coast Guard for its positive response and willingness to extend assistance, paving the way for stronger coordination and future collaborative undertakings between both institutions.

π‹πŽπŽπŠ: The Philippine Coast Guard (PCG), through Coast Guard Station Batangas, participated in the official launch and roll out of the β€œLakbay Alalay ng Gobyerno” (LAYAG) Program spearheaded by the Maritime Industry Authority on 25 May 2026 at the Port of Batangas.

The program aims to provide passenger fare subsidies to help ease the burden on the riding public amid the increasing operational costs in the maritime sector brought about by the ongoing Middle East crisis.

During the activity, MARINA Administrator Sonia B. Malaluan highlighted that the LAYAG Program is the first passenger fare subsidy initiative implemented for the maritime sector. Meanwhile, DOTr Undersecretary for Road Transport and Infrastructure Atty. Mark Steven C. Pastor emphasized the importance of protecting passengers from the effects of rising transportation costs and encouraged continued cooperation among maritime stakeholders in promoting safe and reliable sea transport services.

The Philippine Coast Guard expressed its support for government initiatives that promote the welfare of the riding public and strengthen the country’s maritime transportation sector.
