The Department of Education (DepEd) through the Bureau of Alternative Learning System (BAE) in partnership with the United Nations Children's Fund (UNICEF), the University of Melbourne (UoM) and the Assessment, Curriculum, and Technology Research Centre (ACTRC) conducted a visit to selected ALS Learning Centers of Ibaan, Batangas namely Ibaan CS Learning Center; Sitio San Jose CLC, Brgy. Coliat and Sitio Sta. Margarita CLC; and Brgy. Munting Tubig. They were assisted by SDO ALS Division Focal Person and Education Program Specialists.

The rolling out of Micro-certification will comply with RA 11510 or the ALS Act and its Implementing Rules and Regulations (IRR) that require DepEd to actively promote and ensure the certification and accreditation of learners through alternative learning programs. These micro-certifications can serve as credentials of ALS learners for their job applications, recruitment, and selection processes.

Batangas Province was one of the eight selected SDOs in the country to pilot its implementation .
