This October, the Schools Division of Batangas joins the nation in celebrating the 37th National Statistics Month (NSM) with the theme: “TUKLAS PILIPINAS: Statistics as Beacon Towards Inclusive, Resilient, and Sustainable Tourism.”

Statistics help us discover meaningful insights, understand our communities, and make informed decisions toward a more inclusive, resilient, and sustainable Philippines.

The Schools Division Office of Batangas conducted a capability-building activity for senior citizens and persons with disabilities (PWDs) on September 29, 2026, at Batangas Country Club, Batangas City, focusing on awareness, social inclusion, and the rights, health, and well-being of these sectors.

The activity brought together participants and resource speakers for learning sessions designed to strengthen understanding of the needs and rights of senior citizens and PWDs and promote more responsive and inclusive support.

The program formally opened with the remarks of Dr. Rhina O. Ilagan, Assistant Schools Division Superintendent, who emphasized the importance of initiatives that foster inclusive and meaningful services. Ms. Leoncia B. Maramot, Education Program Specialist II, acknowledged the participants, while the continued support of Dr. Marites A. Ibañez, CESO V, Schools Division Superintendent, was recognized as part of the Division's commitment to social inclusion.

The learning sessions covered emotional resilience, legal rights, personal health, and medical assistance. Dr. Movita O. Cruzat, Principal IV of As-is Integrated School, facilitated “Beyond Barriers: Nurturing Emotional Resilience and Inner Peace,” highlighting the importance of emotional strength and inner peace in dealing with life's challenges.

Dr. Mercy R. Villanueva, Education Program Supervisor I of the Curriculum Implementation Division, discussed “Laws Concerning Senior Citizens and Persons with Disability,” providing participants with information on relevant legal provisions and emphasizing the protection of their rights and dignity.

Meanwhile, Mr. Christian H. Harina, Nurse II of the San Jose Sub-Office, facilitated “Assessing Personal Health Status,” which focused on health awareness and informed health decisions. Mr. Rodelio M. Alvarez, Nurse II of the Lobo Sub-Office, followed with a discussion on “Providing Medical Assistance on Issues, Problems, and Needs Confronting Senior Citizens, Retirees, and Persons with Disabilities,” emphasizing appropriate medical assistance and compassionate service.

The sessions encouraged participants to better understand individual circumstances, recognize the rights of senior citizens and PWDs, and provide support that promotes respect, dignity, fairness, and inclusion.

The activity concluded with the closing remarks of Dr. Evelyn C. De Sagun, Senior Education Program Specialist of HRDS-SGOD, who emphasized the importance of translating the knowledge gained into meaningful actions and inclusive practices.

Through the capability-building activity, SDO Batangas reaffirmed its commitment to strengthening programs and services that uphold the dignity, rights, and well-being of senior citizens and people with disabilities. The initiative underscored the importance of awareness, understanding, and responsive action in building a more inclusive community.

The Schools Division Office of Batangas conducted the Post-Planning Activities for the Finalization of the FY 2027 Division Work and Financial Plan on September 23–25, 2026, at the BSA Twin Towers, Mandaluyong City.

The three-day activity brought together key Schools Division Office officials and personnel to review, refine, and consolidate planning outputs toward completing the FY 2027 DWFP.

The activity focused on ensuring that proposed programs, activities, projects, and corresponding budget requirements align with the Division’s priorities, organizational targets, and the Department of Education’s strategic directions. Participants also revisited identified priorities and validated resource requirements to strengthen the coherence and implementability of the Division’s plans for the coming fiscal year.

Through joint discussions and careful review of planning outputs, the SDO Batangas team worked toward a finalized work and budget plan that is responsive to the needs of schools, personnel, and learners.

The post-planning activity accentuates the Division’s dedication to strategic, results-oriented, and responsible planning and asset management in support of quality and accessible basic education in Batangas.

SDO Batangas Welcomes Dr. Ronald V. Ramilo as New Assistant Schools Division Superintendent

The Schools Division Office (SDO) of Batangas officially welcomed Dr. Ronald V. Ramilo as its new Assistant Schools Division Superintendent (ASDS) during a welcome gathering held today at BSA Twin Towers, Mandaluyong City.

The event brought together education leaders and SDO Batangas personnel to formally welcome Dr. Ramilo to the Division and extend their warm greetings as he begins his new assignment.

Dr. Ramilo is expected to work closely with the Schools Division Superintendent, Assistant Schools Division Superintendent, division chiefs, school heads, teachers, and other stakeholders in advancing the delivery of quality, accessible, and inclusive basic education across the province.

The Schools Division Office of Batangas organized a training for new school heads on legal and education laws. The event took place on September 21 and 22, 2026, at NDN Resort and Events Place in Talisay, Batangas.

The two-day training was designed to help new school heads better understand legal, administrative, and financial topics important for leading a school. Sessions covered Republic Act No. 6713, also known as the Code of Conduct and Ethical Standards for Public Officials and Employees, administrative offenses, common administrative cases in DepEd CALABARZON, the grievance process, and the financial responsibilities of school heads.

On the first day, participants discussed RA 6713 and administrative offenses. They also joined a workshop to practice what they learned.

The second day focused on common administrative cases, DepEd Order No. 35, s. 2004 about grievance procedures, financial management, and rules for using and reporting Maintenance and Other Operating Expenses (MOOE).

This training highlights how important it is for new school heads to have the legal knowledge and leadership skills they need to make good decisions, follow ethical standards, and run their schools well.

Ipinagdiriwang ng Philippine Civil Service Commission (CSC) ang ika-126 na anibersaryo nito na may temang “Bawat Kawani, Lingkod Bayani: Puso, Dangal, at Galing Para sa Bayan.” Binibigyang-diin ng pagdiriwang ang kahalagahan ng pagiging isang lingkod bayan na may malasakit, integridad, at dedikasyon sa paglilingkod sa kapwa at sa bayan.

Bilang bahagi ng pagdiriwang, inilunsad ng CSC ang “Tinig at Panulat Para sa Lingkod Bayani: Essay Writing and Oratorical Competition,” na nagbigay sa mga mag-aaral ng pagkakataong maipahayag ang kanilang mga ideya, pananaw, at pagpapahalaga sa pagiging isang lingkod bayani.

Mula sa Bauan Technical Integrated High School (BTIHS), lumahok si Jade Rhianna E. Urbano sa Essay Writing Competition, sa tulong at gabay ng kaniyang tagapagsanay na si Maria Dolores R. Castillo at ng kanilang Principal IV, Dr. Dulce Amor M. Abante. Ayon sa isinumiteng artikulo, matagumpay na nakapasok si Urbano sa panrehiyong eliminasyon habang hinihintay pa ang resulta ng susunod na yugto ng kompetisyon.

Samantala, lumahok si Alaine Annikah A. Dalangin sa Tinig at Panulat Oratorical Competition, kasama ang kaniyang coach na si Marife A. Bacong. Bilang kinatawan ng Batangas Province, lumahok siya sa Region IV Elimination Round na ginanap noong Setyembre 16, 2026, sa CSC Regional Office IV sa Quezon City, kung saan nakamit niya ang ikalawang puwesto, ayon sa anunsyo ng CSC Region IV.

Ang kanilang pakikilahok sa kompetisyon ay nagbigay ng pagkilala hindi lamang sa kanilang sariling pagsisikap kundi maging sa Bauan Technical Integrated High School at sa lalawigan ng Batangas. Sa pamamagitan ng kanilang mga talento sa pagsulat at pagsasalita, naipakita nila ang pagpapahalaga ng kabataang Batangueño sa malasakit, integridad, kahusayan, at paglilingkod sa kapwa.

Higit sa mga resulta at pagkilala, ipinapaalala ng kanilang karanasan na ang paglilingkod ay maaaring maisabuhay sa pamamagitan ng mga simpleng gawain—ang paggawa ng tama, pagtulong sa kapwa, pagiging tapat sa tungkulin, at paggamit ng sariling kakayahan para sa kapakanan ng iba.

Sa pamamagitan ng Tinig at Panulat Para sa Lingkod Bayani, nabigyan ng pagkakataon ang mga kabataang kalahok na gamitin ang kanilang tinig at talento upang maipahayag ang kahalagahan ng paglilingkod sa bayan.
