HINDI DAHIL KABATAAN KA, PALAGING DAPAT KANG PAGBIGYAN.

Matagal nating ipinaglaban ang boses ng kabataan.
Ipinaglaban natin ang representasyon.
Ipinaglaban natin ang puwesto sa pamahalaan.
Ipinaglaban natin ang karapatang mamuno.

Pero may isang bagay na dapat din nating ipaglaban:
ANG KARAPATAN NG KABATAAN NA MANINGIL NG ACCOUNTABILITY, AT ANG TUNGKULIN NITONG MANAGOT.

Hindi dahilan ang pagiging bata para maging dahilan ng:
“Bata pa naman.”
“Matututo rin ‘yan.”
“Bigyan na lang ng pagkakataon.”

Oo, kabataan tayo.

Pero kapag humawak tayo ng pondo, may pananagutan.
Kapag gumawa tayo ng desisyon, may epekto.
Kapag nangako tayo, may dapat tuparin.
Kapag nagkamali tayo, dapat marunong tayong managot.

Dahil ang SK ay hindi practice government.
Hindi ito simulation.
Hindi ito classroom activity.
Hindi ito dekorasyon para masabing may youth participation.

TOTOONG PAMAMAHALA ITO.
At kung gusto nating seryosohin tayo ng matatanda, dapat tayo mismo ang unang seryoso sa sarili nating pamumuno.

Hindi sapat na sabihin nating:
“Kabataan kami.”

Dapat kaya rin nating sabihin:
“Kabataan kami. Kaya kaya naming matuto, magtrabaho, managot, at maglingkod nang maayos.”

Ang tunay na SK reform ay hindi lamang pagbabago ng batas. Ito ay pagbabago ng pamantayan. Dahil ang kabataan ay hindi dapat humihingi ng special treatment. Dapat humingi tayo ng equal opportunity, and accept equal accountability.

IBA NAMAN ANG KABATAANG HINDI GUSTONG PAGBIGYAN. Gusto niyang PAGKATIWALAAN. At ang tiwala, pinagkakitaan ng gawa, hindi hinihingi dahil sa edad.
