The Bureau of Customs-Port of Batangas (BOC-POB), led by District Collector Carmelita M. Talusan, successfully conducted a Health and Wellness Activity: Medical Screening on August 26, 2026, at the BOC Building, Port of Batangas.

Held as part of the Portโ€™s 69แต—สฐ Founding Anniversary celebration, the activity was conducted in partnership with the Bureau of Customs Medical and Dental Division (MDD) and Unilab. It provided free health screening services to BOC personnel, partner agencies, and stakeholders, including the Philippine Coast Guard District Southern Tagalog (CGDSTL), Bureau of Plant Industry-Batangas (BPI), Bureau of Fisheries and Aquatic Resources-Batangas (BFAR) and Commission on Audit (COA).

The initiative underscores the Portโ€™s commitment to promoting preventive healthcare and supporting the overall health and well-being of its personnel and stakeholders.

The medical screening included bone screening and blood tests to determine blood sugar, uric acid, cholesterol, and hemoglobin levels. These services provided participants with an opportunity to monitor key health indicators and support the early detection of potential health concerns.

As part of the activity, the MDD Team also conducted a discussion on the Grant of Medical Allowance under Agency-Procured and Individual Health Maintenance Organization (HMO) arrangements. The discussion provided BOC personnel with valuable information on available healthcare benefits and arrangements designed to support their medical needs.

District Collector Talusan emphasized the importance of fostering a culture of health and wellness within the organization, noting that initiatives that prioritize the well-being of personnel contribute to a more productive, resilient, and responsive workforce.

The activity likewise supported the Integrity, Accountability, and Modernization (IAM) agenda of Commissioner Ariel F. Nepomuceno, reflecting the Bureau of Customsโ€™ commitment to strengthening employee welfare, stakeholder engagement, and the delivery of efficient and responsive public service.

Through initiatives such as this, the BOC-Port of Batangas continues to promote a workplace culture that values the health, welfare, and well-being of its personnel and stakeholders, reinforcing its commitment to excellence in public service.

The Bureau of Customs-Port of Batangas (BOC-POB) celebrated its 69แต—สฐ Founding Anniversary on August 17, 2026, under the theme โ€œMarangal na Paglilingkod, Makabagong Sistema, Tapat na Aduana,โ€ highlighting a historic record in revenue collection alongside major strides in border security, local ICT modernization, and stakeholder collaboration through the Customs Industry Consultative and Advisory Council (CICAC).

The milestone event gathered BOC personnel, government partners, shipping lines, PEZA locators, importers, exporters, and distinguished guests to commemorate the Portโ€™s 69 years of service and shared achievements.

A major highlight was the 365 Day Accomplishment Report presented by District Collector Carmelita M. Talusan. In July 2026, the Port recorded its highest actual monthly revenue collection in its 69-year history, generating Php24.208 billion against a Php23.452 billion target, or a Php755 million surplus equivalent to 3.22% above target. This made the Port of Batangas the Bureauโ€™s top revenue-contributing port for July 2026, following its record Php3 billion surplus in March.

The report also highlighted achievements in border security, modernization, and trade facilitation, including border security initiatives, locally developed ICT systems and statistics dashboards, and strengthened stakeholder engagement through the Customs Industry Consultative and Advisory Council (CICAC).

District Collector Talusan said, โ€œThese accomplishments reflect the collective commitment and collaboration of the entire Port community,โ€ emphasizing the importance of teamwork, integrity, and meaningful partnerships.

Assistant Secretary Carlos A. Bathan, Chief of Staff to the Commissioner, delivered a message on behalf of Commissioner Ariel F. Nepomuceno, commending the Port of Batangas for its strong performance and emphasizing that its achievements go beyond revenue collection.

โ€œThese achievements are more than numbers.

He also emphasized the need to sustain the Portโ€™s momentum in revenue generation, modernization, border protection, and trade facilitation under the Bureauโ€™s Integrity, Accountability, and Modernization (IAM) Movement. โ€œOur work is bigger than targets, collections, or performance rankings. Our work is about creating opportunities, strengthening public trust, and helping build a better future for the next generation,โ€ he added.

The event also recognized the Top 10 Importers of the Port of Batangas for January-July 2026, led by Toyota Motor Philippines Corporation, followed by Shell Pilipinas Corporation, Mitsubishi Motors Philippines Corporation, South Premiere Power Corporation, Unioil Petroleum Philippines Inc., Mobility Access Philippines, Chevron Philippines Inc., BYD Philippines Corporation, Nissan Philippines Inc., and Suzuki Philippines Incorporated.

Other highlights included the โ€œBOC in Actionโ€ Photo Exhibit, showcasing the Portโ€™s daily operations and personnel, and project updates from Asian Terminals Inc. (ATI) and Bauan International Port Inc. (BIPI).

The celebration marked 69 years of public service and reaffirmed the Port of Batangasโ€™ commitment to the IAM Movement through stronger revenue collection, modernized operations, effective border protection, and trade facilitation.โฉ
