UNIT HISTORY

On 21 March 2025, Field Maintenance Inspection Center- Southern Tagalog was activated as one of Aids to Navigation Service Center Under Maritime Safety Services Command with the mission to develop, establish, operate and maintain aids to navigation in order to enhance the promotion of safety of life and property at sea

To develop, establish, operate and maintain aids to navigation in order to enhance the promotion of safety of life and property at sea. FUNCTION
a) To administer and supervise the operation of different aids to maritime navigation. c) To provide logistics support to the different aids to navigation station. d) To identify and marks all hazard to maritime navigation. e) To install and maintain buoys and beacons on restricted sea lanes and harbors as necessary. f) To train FMIC personnel and lighthouse keepers. g) To conduct research studies for modernization and improvement of ATON including technical evaluation/quality control of lighthouse equipment and accessories. h) To determine as well as acquire, store and distribute spare parts and apparatus to cognizant ATON users.
