𝐋𝐎𝐎𝐊: As part of its 12th Founding Anniversary, the Maritime Security Law Enforcement Command (MARSLEC) brought back its Financial and Wellness Services Caravan for its second run on 12 August 2026 at Headquarters MARSLEC, Coast Guard Base Taguig, Barangay New Lower Bicutan, Taguig City.

Strengthening its commitment to personnel welfare, the Command partnered with government agencies, financial institutions, and health organizations. Representatives facilitated open discussions and provided one-on-one consultations to guide personnel on financial management, smart investments, government benefits, and personal wellness.

The continuation of this initiative highlights MARSLEC’s sustained commitment to supporting its personnel beyond their daily duties. By providing direct access to reliable financial and health resources, the Command helps ensure that its workforce remains financially informed, physically and mentally well, and ready to serve.

MARSLEC, ON HIGH ALERT FOR

The Deployable Response Group (DRG) of the Maritime Security Law Enforcement Command (MARSLEC) continues to be on standby after Typhoon entered the Philippine Area of Responsibility (PAR). MARSLEC remains on standby with rescue equipment, life-saving devices, and medical kits for swift response to disasters and emergencies in coastal communities. Meanwhile, it continues to engage with local governments and disaster response agencies for immediate evacuation and rescue operations.

The public is advised to remain alert, follow warnings regarding sailing, and always monitor the latest weather updates.

𝐋𝐎𝐎𝐊: The Coast Guard Sea Marshal Force received Forty‑Eight (48) life jackets from AUX Commodore Eugene M. Chua, PCGA, and AUX Lieutenant Commander Milfred Sy, PCGA on 05 August 2026.

This donation forms part of the continuing efforts to strengthen the operational readiness and safety equipment of CGSMF personnel deployed aboard maritime transport vessels and during Humanitarian Assistance and Disaster Relief operations.

While primarily tasked with securing passenger vessels and maritime transport, Sea Marshals also augment local disaster response teams and reinforce other PCG units when additional manpower and emergency responders are required during severe weather events and natural calamities.

CAPT CARLOS PCG expressed profound gratitude for the donation, emphasizing that these life jackets will directly support Sea Marshals during routine shipboard security patrols and when providing critical backup in emergency response missions.

𝐋𝐎𝐎𝐊: Senior Enlisted Leaders of the Maritime Security Law Enforcement Command (MARSLEC) gathered for a command conference to discuss the current status of their respective forces. Representatives from all subordinate units presented updates on personnel manning, ongoing activities, and various operational and administrative issues affecting their units.

The conference provided an opportunity to openly discuss concerns, exchange insights, and identify practical solutions to common challenges. It also allowed the command to gain a clearer understanding of the needs of each force and ensure that appropriate actions and support are provided.

By maintaining regular dialogue and close coordination, MARSLEC continues to strengthen communication across its subordinate units, promote the welfare of its personnel, and enhance overall operational readiness in carrying out its maritime law enforcement mission.

𝐋𝐎𝐎𝐊: CAPT Carlos Victor V. Carlos, PCG, Commander of the Coast Guard Sea Marshal Force, participated in the Philippine Coast Guard–Australian Border Force (PCG–ABF) Maritime Law Enforcement Workshop and Tabletop Exercise on 22 July 2026 in Salcedo Village, Makati City.

CAPT Carlos shared a case study from his tenure as Station Commander of Coast Guard Station Bataan. The mission involved the lawful implementation of nine search warrants and the conduct of simultaneous raids against individuals engaged in the manufacture and possession of explosives used in illegal fishing.

He emphasized that successful law enforcement operations are not achieved through tactical capability alone. They rely on sound intelligence, meticulous planning, legal preparedness, effective teamwork, operational discipline, and strong partnerships with government agencies and the community.

The lessons learned from this operation continue to serve as useful guidance for future maritime security and law enforcement initiatives, helping ensure that similar efforts become even more effective and sustainable.

The PCG–ABF initiative reflects the shared commitment of both organizations to strengthening bilateral cooperation, enhancing regional maritime security, and safeguarding vital maritime corridors.

𝐋𝐎𝐎𝐊: In pursuit of the continuing personnel enhancement of this force and in observance of National CPR Day, the Coast Guard Sea Marshal Force received an Automated External Defibrillator (AED) unit from AUX COMMO Eugene M Chua PCGA, and conducted a Cardio Pulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) refresher lecture for all personnel. The activity was held in hybrid format at the HCGSMF Conference Room and through the online platform.

This initiative significantly strengthens the unit’s immediate emergency response capability, ensuring that Sea Marshals are equipped to manage life threatening situations while underway. AUX COMMO Chua led the lecture and underscored that mastery of Basic Life Support (BLS) protocols is essential for maritime personnel, especially given the unique challenges at sea where access to advanced medical care is often delayed.

𝐈𝐍 𝐏𝐇𝐎𝐓𝐎𝐒: As part of its 12th Founding Anniversary Commemorative Activities, the Maritime Security Law Enforcement Command (MARSLEC) successfully held its first-ever Photography Contest on 13 July 2026 at Headquarters MARSLEC, Coast Guard Base Taguig, Barangay New Lower Bicutan, Taguig City.

The contest gave MARSLEC personnel the chance to tell stories through their lenses, capturing moments that reflected the theme "𝑪𝒂𝒑𝒕𝒖𝒓𝒊𝒏𝒈 𝑬𝒙𝒄𝒆𝒍𝒍𝒆𝒏𝒄𝒆 𝒂𝒕 𝑴𝑨𝑹𝑺𝑳𝑬𝑪". More than a competition, it was a celebration of creativity, teamwork, and the unique perspectives of every participant.

With SN2 Gregor Rafaelo V Cacho PCG of the Coast Guard Sea Marshal Force emerged as the Champion, followed by SN2 Jefferson N Agustin PCG of the Coast Guard Investigation and Detection Management Service in 2nd Place, ASN Albert E Mortega PCG of the Coast Guard Security and Border Protection Force in 3rd Place, PO1 Christopher A Peralta PCG of the Coast Guard Sea Marshal Force in 4th Place, and LTJG Mary Ann S Alvarez PCG of HMARSLEC in 5th Place.

The entries were evaluated by LTJG Jose Ian Seth I Lumawag IV PCG, ENS Jose Carlos C Rivera PCG, and ENS Val John H Galon PCG, whose expertise and fair evaluation recognized the outstanding entries and helped make the competition a meaningful success.

The photography contest became one of the memorable highlights of MARSLEC's Founding Anniversary celebration, bringing personnel together through a shared passion for photography while showcasing the creativity, dedication, and teamwork that define the Command.

The Philippine Coast Guard (PCG) has been placed on heightened alert as it intensifies preparations for the possible impact of Super Typhoon , particularly in the National Capital Region, Northeastern Luzon, Northwestern Luzon, and the Bicol Region.

PCG Commandant, Admiral Ronnie Gil L Gavan PCG, has directed all concerned Coast Guard Districts, Stations, and Sub-Stations to implement preparedness measures and maintain close coordination with local disaster risk reduction and management councils and local government units to safeguard coastal communities and maritime stakeholders.

PCG Acting Spokesperson, Commander Michael John Encina PCG, said the Coast Guard has activated its preparedness and response measures under the Intensified Community Assistance, Awareness, Response, and Enforcement (iCARE) campaign.

Preparations include facilitating the early evacuation of residents in high-risk coastal areas, issuing sea travel advisories, securing ports and other Coast Guard facilities, and prepositioning deployable response groups for immediate dispatch. The PCG Auxiliary has also been mobilized to augment preparedness and response operations.

"The PCG is also intensifying engagements with fisherfolk and coastal community residents to encourage compliance with evacuation directives," Commander Encina said.

The public is advised to monitor official weather bulletins and immediately report maritime emergencies through the nearest Coast Guard unit for appropriate action.

𝐈𝐍 𝐏𝐇𝐎𝐓𝐎𝐒: The Maritime Security Law Enforcement Command (MARSLEC) formally launched its month-long commemorative activities in celebration of its 12th Founding Anniversary through an opening ceremony held at Coast Guard Base Taguig, Barangay New Lower Bicutan, Taguig City on 06 July 2026.

The ceremonial opening marked the start of a series of scheduled activities designed to promote unity, camaraderie, and strong sense of teamwork among personnel while highlighting the Command’s continued commitment to maritime security, law enforcement excellence, and public service.

The event gathered eight competing teams representing MARSLEC’s major operational and support units, namely: Headquarters MARSLEC; Coast Guard Security and Border Protection Force; Coast Guard Surface Patrol Force; Coast Guard Sea Marshal Force; Coast Guard K9 Force; Coast Guard Investigation and Detection Management Service; Maritime Security and Law Enforcement Training Institute; and Coast Guard Chemical, Biological, Radiological, and Nuclear Force. Each team will participate in a series of friendly competitions and activities lined up throughout the month-long celebration.

A ceremonial torch lighting led by Apprentice Seaman Kurt Oliver A Paraiso PCG formally signified the commencement of the anniversary activities, symbolizing unity, dedication, and the enduring spirit of service. This was followed by the Oath of Sportsmanship, administered by Lieutenant Junior Grade Mary Ann S Alvarez PCG, which reinforced the values of discipline, integrity, and fair play among all participants.

The month-long anniversary activities aim to further strengthen camaraderie within the Command while recognizing the achievements and milestones of MARSLEC over the past twelve years of dedicated service in safeguarding the country’s maritime domain.
