DILG BATO JOINS LGU BATO AND PDEA IN TECHNICAL CONSULTATION, PUSHING SEVEN BARANGAYS CLOSER TO DRUG-CLEARED STATUS

The Municipality of Bato, Leyte, through the leadership of Honorable Mayor Bryan Nile A. Gertos, conducted a technical consultation on Barangay Drug Clearing Program and interfacing session with PDEA on July 22, 2026, at the Liga Conference Hall, Balay Lungsod, Bato, Leyte.

The activity was joined by the DILG Bato Municipal Field Office, MADAC Focal Person, the Bato Municipal Police Station, the Municipal Health Office, and seven (7) concerned barangays. The discussions primarily focused on resolving implementation gaps and meeting documentary requirements toward achieving drug-cleared status.

Through unity and shared responsibility, the Municipality continues its relentless push towards a more peaceful, and safer place for all Batohanons.

LGU BATO AWARDS TOP PERFORMING BARANGAYS AND SANGGUNIANG KABATAAN COUNCILS

The 140th Joint Parish and Municipal Founding Anniversary kicked off with a Grand Opening Salvo on July 17, 2026, at the Bato Baywalk Grounds, where the Municipality of Bato under the leadership of Honorable Mayor Bryan Nile A. Gertos and Liga ng mga Barangay President Honorable Marissa C. Gertos recognized its top-performing Barangays and Sangguniang Kabataan Councils. The celebration also marked the 12th Barbecue Festival and the Pasidungog sa Pagserbisyo, held under the banner "140 Years of Legacy: Pillars of Bato Award."

Barangay Tabunok took the top spot for both Most Outstanding Barangay and Most Outstanding Sangguniang Kabataan. The top 10 for each category are as follows:

The Awarding of Garbo sa Bato also shone a spotlight on the Achiever Barangays, citing their invaluable support for the voluntary mass blood donation drive spearheaded by the Municipal Health Office. Meanwhile, the Pasidungog sa Pagserbisyo paid tribute to the outgoing Barangay Officials who are about to serve their third consecutive term.

The DILG Bato Municipal Field Office extends its warmest congratulations to all the awardees. May this Pasidungog motivate all the Barangays and Sangguniang Kabataan Councils to continuously embody accountable, transparent, effective, and participative local governance at the grassroots level.

DILG BATO HOLDS MONTHLY MEETING WITH BARANGAY SECRETARIES' LEAGUE

The DILG Bato Municipal Office presided over the monthly meeting of the Barangay Secretaries’ League on July 14, 2026, at the Liga Conference Hall, Balay Lungsod, Bato, Leyte.

MLGOO Dennis Limpiado briefed attendees on critical policy developments, including updates on Road Safety Measures, Safer School Zones, and important reminders on the implementation of Bawat Barangay Makikinabang Presidential Assistance Program under the Socio-Civic Projects Fund.

Mr. Limpiado also reminded selected Barangay Secretaries to ensure their business permitting procedures are integrated with the Municipal Business Permit and Licensing System, while similarly encouraging compliance with other peace and order requirements.

The activity highlighted the Barangays' essential function as pillars of accountable, transparent, participatory, and effective governance at the grassroots level.
