TROPICAL CYCLONE ALERT: TROPICAL DEPRESSION "CARINA"

The Low Pressure Area (LPA) east of Borongan City, Eastern Samar has developed into a Tropical Depression and was named "CARINA"
Location of Center:
(as of 10:00 a.m.) 195 km East of Borongan City, Eastern Samar
Coordinates: 11.5°N, 127.2°E
Strength: Maximum winds of 45 kph near the center.
Movement: Forecast to move Northwest at 11 kph.
Forecast Positions/Outlook:

•24 Hour(Tomorrow morning):
280 km East of Virac, Catanduanes.

•48 Hour(Sunday morning):
255 km East of Casiguran, Aurora.

•72 Hour(Monday morning):
50 km North Northwest of Laoag City, Ilocos Norte.

•96 Hour(Tuesday morning):
430 km West of Calayan Island, Cagayan.

•120 Hour(Wednesday morning):

655 km West Northwest of Itbayat, Batanes.
Estimated rainfall amount is from moderate to heavy within the 300 km diameter of the Tropical Depression.
Fisherfolk are alerted against moderate to rough seas over the eastern seaboards of Luzon and Visayas.
"Carina" will bring moderate to heavy rains over Bicol region, Eastern Visayas and CARAGA region which may trigger flashfloods and landslides.
The public and the disaster risk reduction and management council concerned are advised to take appropriate actions and watch for the next weather bulletin to be issued at 11 PM today.

FOR: Strong to gale force winds associated with Typhoon "BUTCHOY"

Synopsis: At 4:00 am today, the eye of Typhoon "BUTCHOY" was located based on all available data at 330 km east of Basco, Batanes (20.9N, 125.1E) with maximum sustained winds of 220 kph near the center and gustiness of up to 255 kph. Iit is forecast to move northwest at 25 kph. Southwest monsoon affecting Southern Luzon and Visayas.

Forecast: Rains with gusty winds is expected over Batanes, Calayan and Babuyan Group Of Islands. Cloudy skies with light to moderate rains and thunderstorms will be experienced over Metro Manila, the rest of Cagayan Valley, Cordillera Administrative Region, Ilocos Region, Central Luzon, Calabarzon, Mimaropa, Bicol Region, Visayas, Caraga, Zamboanga Peninsula and Northern Mindanao. Partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rainshowers or thunderstorms will prevail over the rest of the country.

Moderate to strong winds blowing from the southwest will prevail over Visayas, Mindanao and the rest of Luzon. The coastal waters along these areas will be moderate to rough..
