"Culture, Gratitude, and Partnership: IPEd and Teachersโ Day Celebration with MOA Signing at Otucan ES "
Otucan Elementary School successfully conducted the Indigenous Peoples Education (IPEd) and Teachersโ Day Celebration on October 2, 2025, coinciding with the Memorandum of Agreement (MOA) Signing between Otucan ES and the Bauko Municipal Police Station (MPS).
The event served a three-fold purpose:
1. To recognize and honor teachers for their tireless dedication in molding young learners.
2. To promote Indigenous Peoples Education (IPEd) as a means of preserving cultural heritage and instilling cultural pride in learners.
3. To strengthen school-community partnership through the MOA signing with Bauko MPS for school safety, learner protection, and discipline.
Sir Aligmayo D. Domanas, School Head, officially welcomed the attendees. He highlighted the significance of the IPEd program in sustaining cultural identity, while also giving tribute to teachers for their lifelong service and sacrifices. He acknowledged the vital role of stakeholders, particularly the Bauko MPS, in strengthening the school-community relationship.
Pupils from Kindergarten to Grade 6 displayed their talents through cultural and creative performances. These numbers highlighted their growing confidence, early cultural awareness, and self-expression. Their teamwork, creativity, and enthusiasm reflected their appreciation of their roots while demonstrating their love for education.
PMsg Jeremiah Pursen delivered a heartfelt message dedicated to teachers, recognizing their sacrifices and unwavering commitment in shaping learners into disciplined and responsible citizens. He highlighted the principle of MOTโModeling, Open Communication, and Time โ as a guiding framework for both teachers and parents to nurture positive values among children. Furthermore, he underscored the significance of the police-school partnership in maintaining a safe, secure, and supportive learning environment.
Representing the voice of learners, Rayleigh A. Kibiten, SELG President, delivered an emotional message of gratitude to teachers. His speech mirrored the learnersโ appreciation for their mentorsโ patience, love, and dedication.
Sir Aligmayo D. Domanas led a solemn prayer for teachers. The prayer reflected the values of patience, compassion, and dedication and asked for continuous blessings and strength for teachers to fulfill their noble mission.
The most significant portion of the event was the MOA signing between Otucan Elementary School and the Bauko Municipal Police Station. This agreement signified a strong commitment to ensuring learner safety, school discipline, and community involvement in education. It also symbolized the schoolโs recognition of the community as an important partner in shaping the holistic development of learners.
The IPEd and Teachersโ Day Celebration and MOA Signing was a meaningful, inspiring, and successful event. It honored the dedication of teachers, promoted cultural awareness through the IPEd program, and strengthened the collaboration between the school and the Bauko Municipal Police Station.
