𝑴𝒊𝒍𝒆𝒔𝒕𝒐𝒏𝒆𝒔 𝒊𝒏 𝑹𝒆𝒄𝒐𝒗𝒆𝒓𝒚: 𝑫𝑨𝑻𝑹𝑪-𝑴𝑷 𝑾𝒆𝒍𝒄𝒐𝒎𝒆𝒔 𝑰𝒕𝒔 𝑺𝒆𝒄𝒐𝒏𝒅 𝒂𝒏𝒅 𝑻𝒉𝒊𝒓𝒅 𝑮𝒓𝒂𝒅𝒖𝒂𝒕𝒆𝒔 𝒐𝒇 𝟐𝟎𝟐𝟔

𝟐𝟔 𝐌𝐚𝐲 𝟐𝟎𝟐𝟔 | Mountain Province — The Drug Abuse Treatment and Rehabilitation Center–Mountain Province (DATRC-MP) proudly marks another significant milestone as Patient 030 successfully completed ten (10) months of treatment, while Patient 028 completed twelve (12) months of Outpatient Treatment and Rehabilitation, making them the Center’s second and third graduates for Calendar Year 2026.

As part of the program, a Parent Effectiveness Session was also conducted to reinforce the vital role of family support in the recovery journey of Persons Who Use Drugs (PWUDs). Ma’am Annelia J. Awisan, the resource speaker, emphasized the significance of family involvement, stressing that despite the challenges, setbacks, and difficulties that PWUDs may encounter, they should not lose hope or feel defeated as long as they continue to place God at the center of their lives.

In their messages of gratitude, the patients and their family members expressed their appreciation for the support, guidance, and patience extended by the Center throughout their rehabilitation journey.

The patients shared:

“Dakel ay pasasalamat ko isnan DATRC ken dakayo amin ay man-ubla isna, isnan bagbaga, tulong, ken a**s yu kendakami. Isunga isnan kakadwa ay nabati, esten yu ken man an a**s kayo. Denggen ken ipati yu amin ay ibaga di case managers yu ken iapply yu nan masursuro yu, et dumteng to abe nan agew ay malpas yu ken mangraduate kayo.”

The parents also shared:

“Maid di maibagami nu di ket dakel ay pasasalamat ken dakayo amin isna DATRC, isnan a**s yu ken bagbaga yu. Baken lang basit di naadal mi tan pati ken dakami ay parentes et ado-ado nan naadal mi. Sapay koma ta san an ak mi anay da et itungpal da ken iapply da amin ay sursuro yo.”

DATRC-MP continues to uphold its commitment to providing accessible, compassionate, and evidence-based rehabilitation services that guide and support individuals toward recovery, resilience, and a sustainable drug-free life.

𝗗𝗔𝗧𝗥𝗖-𝗠𝗣: 𝗦𝗨𝗕𝗦𝗧𝗔𝗡𝗖𝗘 𝗨𝗦𝗘 𝗣𝗥𝗘𝗩𝗘𝗡𝗧𝗜𝗢𝗡 𝗙𝗢𝗥 𝗧𝗛𝗘 𝗬𝗢𝗨𝗧𝗛

With the aim of empowering adolescents through health promotion, leadership formation, mental wellness, and responsible decision-making, the Municipal Health Office of Sagada spearheaded a youth development activity in partnership with various agencies, including the Drug Abuse Treatment and Rehabilitation Center – Mountain Province (DATRC-MP), held at House of D’s, Patay, Sagada on May 16, 2026.

The lecture series was attended by forty (40) adolescents from different barangays of Sagada as part of the annual Badang Kabataan Camp. The Center, represented by Dr. Gayle Kimmayong-De Lara, delivered a lecture on Substance Use Prevention, emphasizing the risks and harmful effects associated with alcohol, to***co, and other illicit drugs. The session highlighted the importance of informed choices and awareness among young individuals, reminding participants how substance use can gradually lead to dependency and negatively affect overall well-being.

At the end of the activity, participants made a collective pledge to become advocates of a drug-free community, strengthening community solidarity and reinforcing a shared commitment toward a healthier and safer future for the youth.

In partnership with the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) Mountain Province – Provincial and Municipal Operations Office (P/MOO), the Outpatient and Aftercare Division Clinical Staff of DOH-DATRC Mountain Province conducted advocacy sessions and Family Development Sessions (FDS) among parent groups in selected barangays of Tadian, Mountain Province on May 11, 14, and 18, 2026.

The activity aimed to strengthen the knowledge and capacity of Pantawid Pamilyang Pilipino Program (4Ps) parent-grantees on mental health promotion, substance use prevention, and digital literacy towards financial well-being. These advocacy topics form part of the Mental Health and Psychosocial Development component under the Seven-Year Transformative Learning Path (7YTLP) Framework implemented through Family Development Sessions.

The sessions served as a platform for increasing awareness and promoting healthy behaviors through preventive education and community engagement. Participants were provided with essential knowledge and practical strategies to support psychosocial well-being, encourage informed decision-making, and foster positive family and community relationships.

This initiative reflects the continuing commitment of DOH-DATRC Mountain Province to strengthening partnerships, empowering families, and promoting preventive interventions that contribute to healthier, safer, and more resilient communities.
