The Sangguniang Panlungsod successfully conducted an Orientation Program on Tree Planting and Growing Activities at the Legislative Building, in preparation for the upcoming tree planting activity to be held in Brgy. Minaba. The program aimed to promote environmental awareness and encourage community participation toward a greener and healthier future.

This meaningful initiative was fully supported by our City Vice Mayor, Hon. Rusmar Ian Tijing, whose dedication to sustainable development continues to inspire the community toward environmental responsibility and progress.

The Civil Society Organization (CSO) Summit 2026, with the theme “Kita ang Bayawan: Strengthening Civil Society Partnerships for Sustainable Local Development,” gathered leaders, organizations, and stakeholders to promote collaboration and meaningful participation in local governance.

With the support of the Office of the Sangguniang Panlungsod, headed by City Vice Mayor Hon. Rusmar Ian Tijing, together with the Department of the Interior and Local Government and the City Cooperative and Manpower Development Office, this initiative highlights the shared commitment toward inclusive and sustainable progress for the people of Bayawan City.

The Committee on Ways and Means conducted a committee hearing on May 19, 2026, at the Martinez Room, Legislative Building, to deliberate on Draft Ordinance No. 2025-016, which seeks to grant exemption from parking fees for Persons with Disabilities (PWDs) and Senior Citizens in city-owned parking facilities within the City of Bayawan.

The Committee discussed the incorporation of the proposed measure into the existing Local Revenue Code to ensure consistency and proper implementation. Resource persons and committee members expressed no objection to the proposal.
