🤝 Strengthening Partnerships for Rehabilitation and Reintegration

In line with the continuing commitment of the Bayawan District Jail, personnel under the leadership of Acting District Jail Warden JINSP LORLYN A. COLOT paid a coordination visit to the Public Employment Service Office (PESO) regarding the implementation of the TUPAD Program of the Municipal Social Welfare and Development (MSWD) in Sta. Catalina, Negros Oriental.

The visit aimed to coordinate the application of qualified Persons Deprived of Liberty (PDLs) as potential beneficiaries of the TUPAD Program, an initiative that provides temporary employment opportunities and livelihood assistance to support their rehabilitation and successful reintegration into the community.

During the meeting, the PESO representative informed the Bayawan District Jail personnel that their office will coordinate with the Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE) and formally request the necessary requirements, procedures, and guidelines for the enrollment of qualified PDLs in the program.

This initiative reflects the shared commitment of BJMP and its partner agencies to create meaningful opportunities that empower PDLs, promote productive lives, and strengthen their journey toward becoming responsible and law-abiding members of society.

𝗕𝗔𝗬𝗔𝗪𝗔𝗡 𝗗𝗜𝗦𝗧𝗥𝗜𝗖𝗧 𝗝𝗔𝗜𝗟 𝗦𝗧𝗥𝗘𝗡𝗚𝗧𝗛𝗘𝗡𝗦 𝗥𝗘𝗛𝗔𝗦 𝗣𝗥𝗢𝗝𝗘𝗖𝗧 𝗣𝗔𝗥𝗧𝗡𝗘𝗥𝗦𝗛𝗜𝗣 𝗪𝗜𝗧𝗛 𝗡𝗢𝗥𝗦𝗨 𝗦𝘁𝗮.-𝗕𝗮𝘆𝗮𝘄𝗮𝗻 𝗖𝗮𝗺𝗽𝘂𝘀

As part of the continuing implementation of the Rehabilitation and Empowerment through Holistic Academic and Skills Development (REHAS) Project, personnel of Bayawan District Jail under the leadership of Acting District Jail Warden JINSP LORLYN A COLOT, visited Negros Oriental State University (NORSU) Sta.-Bayawan Campus to personally submit the list of qualified Persons Deprived of Liberty (PDLs) who will undergo the upcoming entrance examination.

During the visit, the BJMP personnel coordinated with the NORSU Sta.-Bayawan Campus officials to discuss the schedule of the entrance examination and other essential preparations to ensure the successful implementation of the REHAS Project.

Dr. Vito Carlo Genove (Dean, College of Business Administration) and Prof. Analyn Ongue (Associate Dean, College of Business Administration) expressed their commitment to the program and agreed to coordinate the schedule of their visit to Bayawan District Jail for the conduct of the entrance examination, as well as a courtesy meeting with the Acting District Jail Warden, JINSP LORLYN A COLOT, to further strengthen the partnership in providing quality education and meaningful rehabilitation opportunities for qualified PDLs.

This initiative reflects the shared commitment of BJMP and NORSU to empower PDLs through education, equipping them with knowledge, skills, and hope for a productive and successful reintegration into society.

In line with the Bureau of Jail Management and Penology's commitment to ensuring a safe, secure, and drug-free jail environment, the Bayawan District Jail successfully conducted an OPLAN LINIS PIITAN (Joint Greyhound Operation) in close coordination with the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA).

The operation aimed to flush out and prevent the entry of contrabands, particularly illegal drugs and other prohibited items, thereby strengthening security measures and maintaining the integrity of the jail facility. Through this collaborative effort, the Bayawan District Jail reaffirms its unwavering commitment to safeguarding the welfare of Persons Deprived of Liberty (PDLs) while promoting a disciplined, secure, and drug-free correctional environment.

This successful operation was conducted under the leadership of our Acting District Jail Warden, JINSP LORLYN A COLOT, whose steadfast commitment to excellence and public safety continues to inspire proactive measures in maintaining peace and order within the facility.
