For three exciting days, from May 29–31, players showcased exceptional athleticism, teamwork, and determination in the Tawo-Tawo Sepak Takraw Tournament 2026.

The tournament brought together athletes and supporters in a celebration of sportsmanship, camaraderie, and community pride. Every match was a display of skill, passion, and the enduring spirit of competition that makes the Tawo-Tawo Festival truly special.

Congratulations to all participating teams, winners, organizers, and supporters who made this event a resounding success. See you again on the court next year!

The Department of Tourism - NIR (DOT-NIR), in partnership with the Local Government Unit of Bayawan City, successfully conducted the Filipino Brand of Service Excellence (FBSE) Training on May 27–28, 2026, at Mama Benyang’s Restaurant.

Led by our esteemed resource speaker from Cebu, Engr. Maria Lorena P. Guba, the training provided valuable insights into delivering world-class service anchored on genuine Filipino hospitality, professionalism, and cultural pride.

The activity brought together tourism students, personnel from the Culture, Arts, Tourism and Investment Promotions Office (CATIPO), and local tourism stakeholders, fostering a shared commitment to enhancing visitor experiences and strengthening Bayawan City's tourism industry. Through interactive discussions and practical learning sessions, participants gained knowledge and skills essential in providing service that reflects the warmth, excellence, and heart of the Filipino people.

As Bayawan continues to grow as a tourism destination, initiatives like the FBSE Training help ensure that every guest experiences the genuine hospitality that makes the Philippines truly memorable.
