PCR PICKLEBALL MINI TOURNAMENT | AUGUST 7, 2026 πŸ“

As part of the Police Community Relations (PCR) Month Celebration 2026, the Police Community Relations Pickleball Mini Tournament was successfully conducted on August 7, 2026, at the Baybay City Police Station, Brgy. Gaas, Baybay City, Leyte.

The activity served as the culmination of the PCR Pickleball Clinic, which introduced the sport to civilian participants from the Baybay City communityβ€”many of whom were beginners who took the opportunity to learn and participate through the initiative.

In partnership with KK2DAT, the activity was made possible through the collaborative efforts of the police and community volunteers who worked together in facilitating the clinic and culminating tournament. Their support and active involvement contributed greatly to the success of the program.

More than a sporting event, the initiative provided an avenue to promote camaraderie, sportsmanship, teamwork, health and wellness, and stronger police-community relations. It demonstrated how sports can serve as a meaningful platform for building trust, fostering connections, and bringing the police and the community closer together.

The success of this initiative reflects the spirit of partnership and community participationβ€”proving that when the police and the community work hand in hand, meaningful and lasting connections can be created.

As part of the continuing Police Community Relations (PCR) initiatives, the KK2DAT Campaign was conducted at Baybay City Senior High School (BCSHS) on August 7, 2026, highlighting the importance of awareness, prevention, and community participation in addressing issues affecting the youth.

The activity featured discussions on HIV Awareness, Mental Health Awareness, and Anti-Bullying, providing students with relevant information and encouraging them to become more responsible, informed, and empowered members of the community.

Through initiatives such as these, the Philippine National Police, together with its partner stakeholders, continues to strengthen its commitment to protecting the welfare of the youth and fostering a safe, inclusive, and supportive community.

The KK2DAT Baybay City Chapter proudly celebrates a remarkable milestone after receiving two prestigious awards during the Culmination Program of the 31st Police Community Relations (PCR) Month, recognizing the chapter's unwavering commitment to youth empowerment, community engagement, and the promotion of peace and public safety.

At 9:00 AM, during the 31st PCR Month Culmination held at the Police Regional Office 8, the chapter was conferred the Stakeholder Award. Later, at 3:00 PM, during the 31st PCR Month Culmination at the Leyte Police Provincial Office, the chapter was further honored with the Outstanding Stakeholder Award.

Representing the organization, Miss Patricia Ann Cellona, President of the KK2DAT Baybay City Chapter, proudly received both awards on behalf of the chapter. These distinctions reflect the collective dedication, hard work, and commitment of the chapter's officers, members, partner agencies, stakeholders, and the Philippine National Police in advancing programs that empower the youth and strengthen community participation in peace and development initiatives.

These significant recognitions inspire the KK2DAT Baybay City Chapter to continue serving as a proactive partner of the Philippine National Police in promoting youth leadership, volunteerism, and community resilience, while sustaining its advocacy for a drug-free, crime-free, and peaceful society.

The Kabataan Kontra Droga at Terorismo (KK2DAT) Symposium was successfully conducted at Brgy. Pansagan, Baybay City, Leyte, through the initiative of SK Chairman Joel Casimero, with the active participation of the youth members of the barangay.

The activity aimed to strengthen the awareness of the youth on the dangers of illegal drugs, terrorism, criminality, and other forms of violence while promoting their vital role in maintaining peace, order, and community development. The Kabataan Kontra Droga at Terorismo (KKDAT) successfully conducted a Symposium on KKDAT and PNP Regulations at Gabas Integrated High School as part of its continuing advocacy to strengthen youth engagement in crime prevention, anti-illegal drug campaigns, and the promotion of peace and order.

The activity provided participants with an orientation on the goals and objectives of the KKDAT Program, as well as discussions on relevant Philippine National Police regulations, emphasizing discipline, responsible citizenship, and the vital role of the youth as partners in nation-building. The symposium also encouraged students to actively support government initiatives against illegal drugs, criminality, violent extremism, and other threats to public safety.

Strengthening Community Partnership Through Capacity Building

The Kabataan Kontra Krimen, Droga at Terorismo (KK2DAT) actively participated in the Barangay Peace Action Teams (BPATs) Orientation conducted by the Baybay City Police Station as part of its continuing efforts to strengthen community-based peace and order initiatives.

The activity provided participants with a deeper understanding of the roles and responsibilities of BPAT members in promoting public safety, crime prevention, and maintaining peace and order within their respective barangays. It also featured lectures on Basic First Aid and Emergency Care, equipping the participants with essential knowledge and practical skills to effectively respond to emergencies and provide immediate assistance when necessary.

Through activities such as this, the Baybay City Police Station continues to foster stronger collaboration with the youth and community stakeholders, empowering them to become proactive partners in promoting a safer, more resilient, and disaster-prepared community.

In celebration of Police Community Relations Month, the Baybay KK2DAT joined forces with the Barangay Punta Officials and the PNP Baybay in a meaningful Mangrove Planting Activity, a testament to our shared commitment to environmental protection, youth empowerment, and community partnership.

Every mangrove planted today represents our collective responsibility to preserve our coastal ecosystems, strengthen climate resilience, and create a greener future for the next generation.
