Under the leadership of CAPT ALVIN B DAGALEA PCG, and in line with the PCG iCARE Program and the pre-anniversary activities for the 15th Founding Anniversary of Coast Guard District Eastern Visayas, personnel of Coast Guard Sub-Station Baybay conducted a lighthouse clean-up operation at LS Baybay, Brgy. Zone 14, New Reclamation Area, Baybay City, Leyte last 26 August 2026 8AM in the morning.

The activity was made possible with the support of the Bureau of Fire and Protection Station North Leyte, the Local Government Unit of Baybay City which provided its boom truck to aid the operation and the MV LAPU-LAPU crewing team spearheaded by the master of the vessel Marvin Abad.

This initiative ensures the effectiveness, visibility, reliability, and operational readiness of Aids to Navigation (AtoN)โ€”promoting safe maritime navigation and safeguarding the safety of life at sea.

Layunin ng PDI na matiyak na ang bawat sasakyang-dagat ay seaworthy, ligtas, at sumusunod sa mga umiiral na maritime safety regulations bago maglayag.

Sa pamamagitan ng PDI, sinusuri ang mga kinakailangang safety equipment, dokumento, kondisyon ng vessel, passenger capacity, cargo, at iba pang safety requirements upang maiwasan ang mga aksidente at insidente sa dagat.

Kaligtasan sa dagat ay responsibilidad nating lahat.

Huwag ipagsapalaran ang buhay at kaligtasan ng mga pasahero at tripulante. Siguraduhing nakapasa sa Pre-Departure Inspection bago maglayag.
