JOINT BUY-BUST OPERATION NETS SUSPECT, SEIZES SUSPECTED SHABU IN BAYOG, ZAMBOANGA DEL SUR
Bayog, Zamboanga del Sur – In a successful joint anti-drug operation, the Bayog Municipal Police Station (MPS), led by Police Major Micheal S. Giner, Acting Chief of Police, in coordination with personnel from the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA)/ Provincial Drug Enforcement Unit (PDEU), apprehended a suspect and seized suspected methamphetamine hydrochloride, locally known as "shabu," in a buy-bust operation conducted at approximately 2:00 AM today.
The operation took place in Purok Uno, Barangay Poblacion, Bayog, Zamboanga del Sur. Authorities confiscated three heat-sealed sachets containing approximately one gram of suspected shabu.
The suspect, known as "Jamin" (not his real name), an adult resident of Barangay Depili, Bayog, was apprehended during the operation. Also confiscated were an android phone, buy-bust money, and a Berlin cigarette pack used as a container.
The operation was conducted with transparency, witnessed by a media representative from a local FM station in Bayog and Honorable Rey Jabla, a Barangay Kagawad from Barangay Poblacion.
The suspect is currently in the custody of the Bayog MPS and will be facing charges for violation of Republic Act 9165, the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002. The seized evidence will be turned over to the Forensic Crime Laboratory for examination and documentation.
The Bayog MPS, along with PDEA/PDEU, remains committed to eradicating illegal drugs in the municipality and ensuring the safety and well-being of its citizens.
