𝐁𝐀𝐘𝐎𝐌𝐁𝐎𝐍𝐆, 𝐍𝐮𝐞𝐯𝐚 𝐕𝐢𝐳𝐜𝐚𝐲𝐚 —Gov. Jose V. Gambito urged farmers to properly care for newly distributed farm machinery, reminding them that the equipment was purchased with public funds.

“Take care of these because this equipment truly belongs to you. The money used to purchase it came from the taxes you paid,” Gambito told members of farmers’ organizations who received machinery from the provincial government through the Provincial Agriculture Office (PAO) in an awarding ceremony held today at the provincial capitol.

Sixty-eight farmers’ organizations benefited from the latest distribution: 22 received power sprayers, 16 grass cutters, 15 water pumps, and 15 hand tractors.

Provincial Agriculture Officer Absalom Rizal D. Baysa said the program involved more than P2 million in public funds. It was the second batch of beneficiaries under the province’s agricultural machinery assistance program.

Gambito said agriculture would remain a priority of his administration, noting that the sector is a major source of income for many residents.

“As long as I am governor, agriculture programs will remain a priority,” he said.

The governor also announced that the provincial government had allocated P13 million for solar-powered water pumps to be distributed to farmers’ groups in the next phase of the program. Another P6.5 million has been earmarked for fuel assistance for organizations using gasoline-powered pumps.

He also assured farmers that the province would continue its flagship projects, including Kalsada ti Kabanbantayan and Dalan ti Umili, which aim to improve farm-to-market access and support rural communities.

“Although we may rarely see one another, you can be assured that you remain my priority in implementing programs that will improve the livelihood of Novo Vizcayanos,” Gambito said.

The beneficiaries said the machinery would ease farm work and reduce operating costs.

Flor Principe, president of the Future Life and Livelihood Association in Barangay San Fernando, Bambang, said the equipment would help members manage their farms more efficiently and benefit other farmers in the community who may need access to the machinery.

“Lubos kaming nagpapasalamat sa provincial government sa pagbibigay ng mga kagamitang hindi namin kayang agad na bilhin. Sisiguraduhin naming aalagaan at gagamitin namin ito nang maayos para sa kapakinabangan ng aming mga magsasaka,” she said. /RMI

Governor Gambito Backs Community Efforts to Improve Access, Infrastructure, and School Safety in Dupax del Sur

Governor Atty. Jose "Papa Jing" Gambito expressed support for ongoing efforts to improve infrastructure, access to essential services, and school safety during a courtesy visit by officials from Barangay Carolotan and Barangay Canabay of Dupax del Sur.

The local officials met with Governor Gambito at the Governor’s Office to discuss concerns affecting their communities, particularly transportation challenges that impact the delivery of farm products and residents’ access to healthcare services and markets.

One of the key matters discussed was Brgy. Carolotan and Brgy. Canabay’s proposed joint resolution seeking funding for the construction of an overflow bridge in the area. The proposed project is intended to provide an additional access route and help address difficulties in transporting agricultural products and reaching essential services, particularly when existing routes become challenging to pass.

The proposed bridge is also expected to support local farmers by facilitating the timely movement of their products to markets while improving residents’ access to healthcare and other basic services.

The meeting also included discussions on school protection and the importance of strengthening safety measures in schools amid recent school shooting incidents reported in the Philippines.

Governor Gambito emphasized the need to create safer spaces for children, where they can pursue their education without fear and with the assurance that their safety and welfare remain a priority.

He further expressed openness to working with local officials and concerned agencies in exploring measures that can help enhance protection and security in schools and communities.

Meanwhile, Governor Gambito reiterated the provincial government's continuing commitment to improving road connectivity and access through its infrastructure programs.
He highlighted the continued implementation of “Dalan ti Umili” and “Kalsada ti Kabanbantayan,” which seek to improve road access and connectivity in communities across the province.

Through these initiatives, the provincial government continues to work with local communities in addressing infrastructure concerns, supporting agricultural livelihoods, improving access to essential services, and promoting safer and more connected communities. /kad

𝐁𝐀𝐘𝐎𝐌𝐁𝐎𝐍𝐆, 𝐍𝐮𝐞𝐯𝐚 𝐕𝐢𝐳𝐜𝐚𝐲𝐚 —Gov. Jose V. Gambito welcomed Mamerto B. Tello Jr., CPA, the newly designated chief of the National Bureau of Investigation-Bayombong District Office (NBI-BayDO), during a courtesy call at the governor’s office on Aug. 19.

Tello succeeds former NBI-BayDO Director Virgilio Reganit.

Following their meeting, Gambito invited Tello to attend the third-quarter joint meeting of the Provincial Peace and Order Council, the Provincial Task Force to End Local Communist Armed Conflict (PTF-ELCAC), and the Provincial Anti-Drug Abuse Council.

Tello was formally introduced to members of the three provincial councils during the meeting.

Before assuming his post in Bayombong, Tello served as supervising agent and officer-in-charge of the NBI Dagupan District Office in Pangasinan. He also previously served as agent-in-charge of the NBI Aurora District Office.

During his stint in Dagupan, Tello worked closely with the Philippine National Police, local government units and other government agencies on anti-criminality programs, community-based law enforcement initiatives, and provincial migration and development concerns.

He also oversaw operations against fraud syndicates, including cases involving real estate scams, falsification of public documents and illegal recruitment schemes using the name of the NBI.

In 2026, Tello led an expanded NBI investigation into the alleged irregular registration and transfer of 13 parcels of land in Mangatarem, Pangasinan, to a private company reportedly linked to dismissed Bamban Mayor Alice Guo. The investigation focused on how government officials processed and approved the transactions.

Gambito’s meeting with Tello highlighted the provincial government’s commitment to strengthening coordination with national law enforcement agencies in addressing criminality and other peace-and-order concerns in Nueva Vizcaya. /RMI

𝐁𝐀𝐘𝐎𝐌𝐁𝐎𝐍𝐆, 𝐍𝐔𝐄𝐕𝐀 𝐕𝐈𝐙𝐂𝐀𝐘𝐀 (𝐀𝐔𝐆𝐔𝐒𝐓 𝟐𝟎, 𝟐𝟎𝟐𝟔) — Nueva Vizcaya Gov. Jose V. Gambito has urged Smith Bell Mini-Hydro Corp. to sell electricity from its proposed hydropower projects directly to the Nueva Vizcaya Electric Cooperative (NUVELCO), saying Novo Vizcayanos should be first to benefit from the province’s renewable energy resources.

Gambito made the appeal during a meeting with Smith Bell vice president for operations Jeofry T. Paolo at the provincial capitol on Tuesday, Aug. 18, as the company provided updates on its proposed Matuno 1 and Matuno 2 mini-hydroelectric projects.

The Matuno 1 Hydroelectric Power Plant in Ambaguio is expected to generate 11.35 megawatts, while Matuno 2 in Sto. Domingo West, Bambang, is designed to produce 10.5 MW. Combined, the projects could add nearly 22 MW of renewable energy capacity to the province.

Gambito said channeling the power directly to NUVELCO would allow local consumers to benefit from the additional supply and could help bring down electricity costs. He said the proposal supports the provincial government’s drive to expand clean energy while ensuring communities hosting renewable energy projects gain from their development.

The meeting was also attended by Provincial Administrator King Webster Balawing, Provincial Planning and Development Officer Engr. Edgardo Sabado, Provincial Assessor Salvador Aquino III, Provincial Treasurer Rhoda S. Moreno and Revenue Division head Desiree De Guzman.

Gambito made the appeal as guest speaker at the 12th Founding Anniversary and the joint induction, turnover of responsibilities, oath-taking and installation of officers of the Solano Sierra Madre Lions Club, Nueva Vizcaya Tribu Lions Club, and Solano Educators Lions Club, District 301‑C. The ceremony was held at the Carlos M. Padilla Convention Center and was attended by District Governor Ralph Eduardo Yambao, Vice District Governor Atty. Edsel Abella and other district dignitaries.

Gambito outlined practical ways non-government organizations can align their initiatives with provincial government programs, saying stronger collaboration can help expand the reach and accelerate the delivery of public services.

Lions Clubs International, founded in 1917, is one of the world's largest service organizations, with about 1.4 million volunteers in more than 48,000 clubs across over 200 countries and geographic areas.

Its humanitarian work includes vision care, hunger relief, environmental protection, diabetes awareness, support for children with cancer, disaster response and youth leadership development.

𝐁𝐀𝐘𝐎𝐌𝐁𝐎𝐍𝐆, 𝐍𝐔𝐄𝐕𝐀 𝐕𝐈𝐙𝐂𝐀𝐘𝐀 (𝐀𝐔𝐆𝐔𝐒𝐓 𝟏𝟗, 𝟐𝟎𝟐𝟔) — Good governance at the grassroots level is being rewarded as 284 Nueva Vizcaya barangays received financial assistance for projects expected to bring direct benefits to the communities.

Gov. Jose Gambito this week led the distribution of the assistance at the CMP Convention Hall, where barangay officials from across the province gathered to receive the funds.

The assistance will help barangays carry out projects addressing local needs and improving community services and facilities.

But with the funds comes a responsibility, Gambito reminded barangay officials, further urging them to submit financial utilization reports to ensure that public money is properly accounted for and used as intended.

“Continue serving your barangays with dedication,” the governor told the officials, stressing responsible leadership and commitment to their constituents.

The provincial government said proper implementation and reporting would ensure that the assistance translates into concrete and lasting benefits for communities across Nueva Vizcaya.

The President of the Nantawakan Indigenous People Organization (NIPU) of Kasibu, Mr. Benhur Bulayo, paid a courtesy visit to Governor Atty. Jose "Papa Jing" Gambito on Tuesday, August 18, 2026, to discuss matters concerning the organization and its members. Requests were also raised during the meeting and were duly received for appropriate action.

Governor Gambito warmly welcomed Bulayo and listened to the concerns and needs presented by the organization.
