READ | Consumer Price Index for the Bottom 30% Income Households (2018=100): July 2026

The country’s inflation rate for households in the bottom 30% of the income distribution increased to 8.2% in July 2026, from 8.0% in June 2026.

Food inflation for the bottom 30% of income households at the national level recorded a year-on-year growth rate of 8.5% in July 2026, up from 8.2% in the previous month. In July 2026, it recorded a 3.5% annual decrease.

Inflation for the bottom 30% of income households in the National Capital Region (NCR) slowed down to 4.5% in July 2026, from 5.0% in June 2026.

Inflation for the bottom 30% of income households in areas outside NCR also showed an uptrend at 8.3% in July 2026, from 8.1% in June 2026.

READ | Seasonally Adjusted Consumer Price Index (2018=100): July 2026

At the national level, the seasonally adjusted Consumer Price Index (CPI) for all items exhibited a month-on-month growth rate of 0% in July 2026, the same monthly rate reported in June 2026.

In the National Capital Region (NCR), seasonally adjusted CPI for all items registered a slower month-on-month growth rate of 0.1% in July 2026, from 0.2% in the previous month.

Areas outside NCR showed a monthly increment of 0.1% in July 2026, from a month-on-month decline of 0.1 percent in June 2026.

The main contributors to the overall inflation in July 2026 were:

🍽️ Food and non-alcoholic beverages - 32.1%
🏠 Housing, water, electricity, gas, and other fuels - 26.8%
🚍 Transport - 17.4%

Meanwhile, core inflation, which excludes selected food and energy items, eased to 4.2% in July 2026 from 4.4% in June 2026.

READ | PSA, BSP, and SEC sign MOA for improved Foreign Direct Investment data sharing for better policies, stronger investor confidence

As part of its continuing efforts to strengthen the country’s statistical system, the Philippine Statistics Authority (PSA) signed a Memorandum of Agreement (MOA) together with the Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas (BSP) and the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) to further enhance Foreign Direct Investment (FDI) data sharing that supports sound economic policies and boosts investor confidence.

The agreement allows SEC to share relevant corporate registration records and other investment-related data, with the PSA as the central repository for FDI data and the BSP as the compiler of official FDI statistics. The said data will be shared through SEC’s digital platforms, including the SEC Swift Corporate and Other Records Exchange (SCORE) Protocol and the SEC API Marketplace.

The Philippine Statistics Authority (PSA) will hold a Press Conference on the 2026 Second Quarter Performance of the Philippine Economy on 07 August 2026 (Friday), 10:00 AM.

The resource persons for the press conference are Secretary Arsenio M. Balisacan, PhD of the Department of Economy, Planning and Development (DEPDev), and PSA Undersecretary Claire Dennis S. Mapa, PhD, National Statistician and Civil Registrar General.

READ | PSA, DA strengthen data partnership to support food security and evidence-based agricultural decisions

The Philippine Statistics Authority (PSA) strengthened its partnership with the Department of Agriculture (DA) to further enhance the quality, timeliness, and use of agriculture and fisheries data in support of evidence-based decisions and national food security efforts.

Among the key areas discussed were improving data collection, sharing, and management to support the formulation of policies and programs for agriculture and fisheries sectors.

By strengthening collaboration and improving the country's agricultural data systems, the PSA and the DA aim to provide policymakers, local governments, and stakeholders with reliable information that supports better decisions for farmers, fisherfolk, and the Filipino people.
