MERT, the Marian Emergency Response Team, is a dedicated organization composed of trained first aiders and voluntary members committed to safeguarding students during school events. Under the leadership of its current officers, the organization successfully navigated the school year despite numerous challenges, proving its resilience and unwavering sense of duty.
MERTโs journey began with its first service during the orientation for freshmen and transferees, where members ensured safety and provided immediate medical assistance. Their commitment extended beyond the campus as they joined community events such as the Bayongyong Fiesta and Brigada Eskwela, reflecting their devotion to both the university and the wider community.
During the Club Fair, MERT stood out by offering CPR demonstrations, free blood pressure checks, and creative displays that drew in new recruits. Their efforts earned recognition through awards for recruitment and creativity. The organization also participated in national security seminars, DRRM sessions, and teamโbuilding activities that welcomed over 250 new members, strengthening camaraderie and cooperation. A series of intensive training sessions followed, covering essential skills such as basic first aid, bandaging, CPR, ropemanship, firefighting, and rescue simulations, all designed to sharpen preparedness and teamwork.
Beyond medical and rescue training, MERT embraced environmental responsibility by joining treeโplanting initiatives and continued to provide medical assistance during major university events, including Gabi ng mga Bagong Marian, TAKBOKASYON 2025, and the 97th Foundation Day. The officers were honored in recognition programs for outstanding service, affirming their role as leaders in safety and volunteerism. Outreach programs at Bansing and Pawak Elementary Schools further showcased their compassion, as they taught children basic first aid while distributing school supplies and gifts.
MERTโs year was a testament to service, leadership, and preparedness. From orientation to graduation, the organization consistently embodied its mission to protect, respond, and serve, instilling values of integrity, teamwork, and compassion in its members and the Marian community.
