1.

It is a Manobo term for pathway in which the place was located along the river which served as the pathway of the natives going to Esperanza town.

2. It was came from a name of a tree called “Bayug” which it grew abundantly in this place and used by the natives to call the attention of their fellowmen during their meetings by knocking the wood of Bayug.

Bayugan City Honors Former Councilor and Provincial Board Member Cesar M. Alonde in Necrological Service

Bayugan City – In recognition of his invaluable contributions to public service, the City Government of Bayugan held a necrological service at the Bayugan City Hall in honor of former Bayugan City Councilor and former Agusan del Sur Sangguniang Panlalawigan Member Hon. Cesar M. Alonde.

The ceremony was attended by city officials, department heads, government employees, members of the bereaved family, relatives, and friends who gathered to pay their final respects and celebrate the life and legacy of the late public servant.

During the program, Mayor Kirk A. Asis expressed his heartfelt gratitude for the dedicated service rendered by the late Hon. Alonde, who served as a Bayugan City Councilor for three consecutive terms before representing the people of Bayugan as a member of the Agusan del Sur Provincial Board. The Mayor recognized his significant contributions to the welfare of the Bayuganons and his role as their voice at the provincial level.

As a tribute to his exemplary public service, the City Council presented a Resolution recognizing the significant contributions of the late Hon. Alonde to the City of Bayugan and the Province of Agusan del Sur.

On behalf of the bereaved family of the late Hon. Cesar M. Alonde, they expressed their sincere appreciation to the City Government of Bayugan and to everyone who extended their support, prayers, and condolences during their time of mourning.

At 1:00 PM, the remains of Hon. Alonde will leave Bayugan City Hall and proceed to the Provincial Government of Agusan del Sur, where another tribute will be held in recognition of his service to the province.

The necrological service served as a solemn tribute to Hon. Alonde's enduring legacy of dedicated leadership and selfless public service, which will continue to be remembered by the people he served.
