On April 7, 2026, the Municipal Health Office, in collaboration with the Department of Health, successfully conducted the PuroKalusugan Program Implementation Review and Orientation for New PuroKalusugan Sites. The activity gathered barangay officials, Barangay Health Workers (BHWs), Barangay Nutrition Scholars (BNS), and RHU staff in a shared commitment to strengthen community-based health services.
The activity aimed to:
1. Present accomplishments, identify gaps and challenges, and provide recommendations for program improvement; and
2. Orient 12 new implementation sites on the PuroKalusugan Program
The program opened with a message by Dr. Jesusa Christina A. Legaspi highlighting the goal of PuroKalusugan to reach 100% of the population in every purok.
Mr. Isidro M. Siquian II from the Mayorโs Office, speaking on behalf of the Mayor, emphasized that PuroKalusugan helps reduce healthcare costs by minimizing transportation expenses and improving access to essential health services.

Dr. Jesusa Legaspi presented the new implementation sites and discussed the executive order, the composition of barangay steering committees and their specific roles and functions.
Meanwhile, Dr. Krysha Caday,DTTB, provided an overview of PuroKalusugan services, focusing on the eight priority programs, including immunization, tuberculosis, non-communicable diseases (NCDs), nutrition, and road safety.
Ms. Kahren Justo, DOH Development Management Officer, delivered a comprehensive overview of PuroKalusugan, including its legal basis and guiding principles. Ms. Melanie Macugay and Ms.Judith Ancheta, DOH-deployed midwives, discussed the 2025 accomplishments of the four initial PuroKalusugan implementation sites namely Maluno Sur, New Magsaysay, District 1, and Andabuen highlighting significant improvements in several priority programs. Gaps, challenges, and recommendations were also identified to further strengthen implementation.
An open forum followed, giving participants the opportunity to ask questions,share insights, experiences, and suggestions for improvement.
The program ended with a closing message expressing gratitude to all barangay officials, BHWs, BNS, and partners for their continued dedication to improving community health.
