𝐁𝐀𝐓𝐂𝐇 𝐎𝐍𝐄 𝐒𝐊𝐅-𝐑𝐇𝐔 𝐋𝐈𝐁𝐑𝐄𝐍𝐆 𝐓𝐔𝐋𝐈 𝟐𝟎𝟐𝟔

48 young beneficiaries from the Forest Region successfully participated in the Annual SKF-RHU Libreng Tuli Year 3 Batch 1 held at the Benito Soliven Community Center last May 12, 2026.

The activity, spearheaded by the Sangguniang Kabataan Federation of Benito Soliven in partnership with the Rural Health Unit (RHU), continues to provide accessible and quality healthcare services to young Solivenians while promoting community welfare and youth-centered public service.

Present during the activity were SK Federation President Hon. Isidro Carmelo L. Siquian, Vice President Hon. Lovely Mae B. Bueno, Secretary Hon. Angelika Wenceslao, Auditor Hon. Mark Angelo Calautit who both served as hosts, Treasurer Hon. Jerwin Orfinada, Sergeant-at-Arms Hon. Yzah Aquino, and SK Chairperson of Dagupan Hon. Rolly Padua, who assisted the RHU team in sanitization and operations to ensure the safety and smooth flow of the program.

The Sangguniang Kabataan Federation of Benito Soliven extends its warmest and sincerest gratitude to its supportive sponsors and partners: Mayor Hon. JP Idol S. Azur, the Local Youth Development Office (LYDO) led by Ms. Louella Marie S. • Kinakailangang masuri muna ng mga Midwife, BHW, o Nurse bago payagang magpatuli. Siguraduhing nasuri na ng Midwife mula sa inyong barangay bago pumunta sa venue.

As part of the DOH's End TB Strategy and Healthy Pilipinas Initiative, the Benito Soliven RHU organized a TB Caravan in Barangay Nacalma, one of the geographically hard-to-reach and underserved barangays in the municipality of Benito Soliven.

This activity was made possible through the collaborative efforts of Philippine Business for Social Progress (PBSP) and DOH Cagayan Valley, the Local Government Unit of Benito Soliven, and the active participation of community members, barangay officials, BHWs, and BNS.

The TB Caravan aimed not only to provide essential diagnostic services but also to promote early detection and proper treatment, reminding everyone that TB is preventable and curable.

Of the 200 individuals who underwent chest X-ray, including high-risk individuals (elderly, children, and household contacts of known TB cases), 12 individuals (6%) had radiologic findings suggestive of pulmonary tuberculosis and submitted sputum specimens on-site for GeneXpert MTB/RIF testing.

The World Immunization Week celebration was successfully conducted, spearheaded by the Municipal Health Office and held at Barangay Villaluz. The activity highlighted the importance of vaccines across the lifespan and reinforced their vital role in protecting community health.

Anchored on the theme “Bakuna at Proteksyon ni Baby, My Responsibility,” the event underscored the shared responsibility of caregivers, health workers, and the entire community in achieving optimal health and protection for all.

Barangay Captain Nelson Reyes, in his welcome remarks, expressed his gratitude that Barangay Villaluz was chosen as the venue. He emphasized that vaccines are free, safe, and effective, and encouraged all caregivers to actively participate in immunization programs.

𝑨𝒄𝒕𝒊𝒗𝒊𝒕𝒚 𝑯𝒊𝒈𝒉𝒍𝒊𝒈𝒉𝒕𝒔

✅Educational Session
Dr. Krysha Caday, DTTB, led an informative session on the various vaccines available across the lifespan and the diseases they prevent.

✅Card Checking and Immunization
Participants’ immunization cards were reviewed, and necessary vaccines were administered to those with incomplete vaccine.

✅Awarding of Fully Immunized Children (1st Quarter)
Children who completed their vaccination schedules were awarded certificates of recognition and tokens of appreciation for their commitment to timely immunization.

✅Fluoride Application
All participants received free fluoride application to support oral health.

✅Nutrition Services
Mid-upper arm circumference (MUAC) measurements were conducted, and multivitamins and micronutrient powders were distributed.

✅PPD Screening
Underweight participants and those with recurrent cough and colds underwent PPD screening for further health assessment.

✅Distribution of Tokens
Tumblers and dental kits were distributed to participants at the end of the program.

✅Yakult Film Viewing
The activity was conducted in partnership with Yakult Philippines, which provided free Yakult drinks and facilitated a film viewing for participants.

The program concluded with closing remarks from Raizzah Carolino, NIP Municipal Coordinator, who expressed gratitude to all participants for their time and commitment. She also extended appreciation to the Local Government Unit and Barangay Villaluz for their support and announced the upcoming Measles-Rubella Supplemental Immunization Activity (MR-SIA) scheduled for August 2026.

On April 7, 2026, the Municipal Health Office, in collaboration with the Department of Health, successfully conducted the PuroKalusugan Program Implementation Review and Orientation for New PuroKalusugan Sites. The activity gathered barangay officials, Barangay Health Workers (BHWs), Barangay Nutrition Scholars (BNS), and RHU staff in a shared commitment to strengthen community-based health services.

The activity aimed to:

1. Present accomplishments, identify gaps and challenges, and provide recommendations for program improvement; and
2. Orient 12 new implementation sites on the PuroKalusugan Program

The program opened with a message by Dr. Jesusa Christina A. Legaspi highlighting the goal of PuroKalusugan to reach 100% of the population in every purok.

Mr. Isidro M. Siquian II from the Mayor’s Office, speaking on behalf of the Mayor, emphasized that PuroKalusugan helps reduce healthcare costs by minimizing transportation expenses and improving access to essential health services.

𝙊𝙧𝙞𝙚𝙣𝙩𝙖𝙩𝙞𝙤𝙣 𝙛𝙤𝙧 𝙉𝙚𝙬 𝙄𝙢𝙥𝙡𝙚𝙢𝙚𝙣𝙩𝙖𝙩𝙞𝙤𝙣 𝙎𝙞𝙩𝙚𝙨

Dr. Jesusa Legaspi presented the new implementation sites and discussed the executive order, the composition of barangay steering committees and their specific roles and functions.

Meanwhile, Dr. Krysha Caday,DTTB, provided an overview of PuroKalusugan services, focusing on the eight priority programs, including immunization, tuberculosis, non-communicable diseases (NCDs), nutrition, and road safety.

Ms. Kahren Justo, DOH Development Management Officer, delivered a comprehensive overview of PuroKalusugan, including its legal basis and guiding principles. 2025 𝙋𝙆 𝙋𝙧𝙤𝙜𝙧𝙖𝙢 𝙄𝙢𝙥𝙡𝙚𝙢𝙚𝙣𝙩𝙖𝙩𝙞𝙤𝙣 𝙍𝙚𝙫𝙞𝙚𝙬

Ms. Melanie Macugay and Ms.Judith Ancheta, DOH-deployed midwives, discussed the 2025 accomplishments of the four initial PuroKalusugan implementation sites namely Maluno Sur, New Magsaysay, District 1, and Andabuen highlighting significant improvements in several priority programs. Gaps, challenges, and recommendations were also identified to further strengthen implementation.

An open forum followed, giving participants the opportunity to ask questions,share insights, experiences, and suggestions for improvement.

The program ended with a closing message expressing gratitude to all barangay officials, BHWs, BNS, and partners for their continued dedication to improving community health.

𝐏𝐮𝐫𝐨𝐊𝐚𝐥𝐮𝐬𝐮𝐠𝐚𝐧 𝐬𝐚 𝐀𝐧𝐝𝐚𝐛𝐮𝐞𝐧, 𝐁𝐞𝐧𝐢𝐭𝐨 𝐒𝐨𝐥𝐢𝐯𝐞𝐧

Nagpapatuloy ang implementasyon ng programang PuroKalusugan, isang inisyatiba ng sektor ng kalusugan na naglalayong ilapit ang mga serbisyong pangkalusugan sa mismong komunidad.

Ang pangunahing layunin ng PuroKalusugan ay maihatid ang mga pangunahing serbisyong medikal direkta sa antas ng purok o barangay upang matiyak na ang serbisyong pangkalusugan ay abot-kamay ng bawat Pilipino, lalo na sa mga malalayong komunidad. Layunin nitong masiguro na ang bawat mamamayan ay tunay na nakararamdam ng malasakit at serbisyong pangkalusugan mula sa pamahalaan.

Sa isinagawang aktibidad sa Purok 2, Andabuen, Benito Soliven, Isabela, kabuuang 62 indibidwal ang nabigyan ng serbisyo.Kabilang sa mga serbisyong ibinigay ang mga sumusunod:

Inanunsyo rin ang pagsasagawa ng Supplemental Immunization Activity (SIA) para sa mga batang may edad 6 na buwan hanggang 59 buwan (6 months to 4 years old) upang mas mapalakas ang proteksyon ng mga bata laban sa mga sakit na maiiwasan sa pamamagitan ng bakuna.
