Promoting Safe and Healthy Choices: IEC Sessions Held in Suquib Elementary School
Midwife Dorothy A. Sildon and Ms. Sion D. Padalla (BHW) conducted an Information, Education, and Communication (IEC) session at Suquib Elementary School as part of the continuing efforts to raise awareness on child safety and well-being.
In line with the National Children’s Month celebration, Ms. Sildon led an informative and engaging lecture attended by both learners and teachers. The session emphasized the importance of making responsible and healthy choices, particularly by avoiding prohibited drugs, va**ng, and the excessive use of online games, which may negatively affect students’ health, behavior, and academic performance.
Ms. Sildon also highlighted the value of engaging in sports, board games, and indigenous games as productive alternatives that foster physical fitness, mental sharpness, and stronger social connections. These activities were encouraged not only as recreational options but also as effective ways to build discipline, teamwork, and resilience among the youth.
The school expressed its appreciation for the meaningful and timely discussions, which aim to empower learners to make informed decisions and lead healthier, drug-free lifestyles.
Thank you for your participation and support.

November 6, 2025 (Thursday)

Let’s all take part in the 4th Quarter Nationwide Simultaneous Earthquake Drill (NSED)!
Together, let’s practice the “Duck, Cover, and Hold” technique and show that every learner, teacher, and member of our school community is ready to respond when disaster strikes.

In line with this, the pupils of Suquib Elementary School from both Popwag and TLS school sites actively participated in the drill. Learners demonstrated the proper procedures — from taking cover during the shaking to orderly evacuation, headcount of class members, and reporting of missing or complete members.

Through activities like this, we continue to strengthen our preparedness and commitment to safety for everyone in the school community.

A Day of Celebration and Activity!

Our school joyfully celebrated the IP (Indigenous Peoples) Month with a day full of meaningful activities and fun events!

The program began with an inspiring opening message from Pastor Alfredo Padalla, an Indigenous community member, followed by a mental health reminder from Ms. Dorothy Sildon, our dedicated midwife, who shared the helpful acronym DANGER to guide us in caring for our well-being.

We also had PCMS Wilfred Manacnis, Platoon Sgt., who led an outreach program, giving out school supplies, hygiene kits, and even offering free haircuts to almost all of our male pupils — truly a wonderful gesture of service and care!

In the afternoon, the excitement continued with our school intramurals and selection of athletes for the upcoming District Meet. Students enthusiastically participated in events such as high jump, long jump, running, and javelin throw.

A heartfelt thank you to our supportive parents, honorable kagawads, and local policemen who joined and celebrated with us. Your presence made the event even more meaningful!
(All photos of the pupils were taken and shared with the consent of their parents.)

The much-anticipated launch of the ARAL program was successfully held on September 15, 2025, at Suquib ES. The event was attended by pupils, parents, teachers, and school officials, all united by a common goal—to strengthen support for every learner.

The program opened with opening remarks and was followed by an inspiring message from the school principal, Ms. Christina Semon, who emphasized that the main goal of ARAL is to ensure that no learner is left behind. She encouraged everyone to work hand in hand in providing guidance, support, and opportunities for pupils to reach their full potential.

One of the highlights of the activity was the parents’ pledge of commitment. After the orientation, they willingly affixed their signatures as a symbol of their dedication and active participation in the ARAL program. This gesture reflected the strong partnership between home and school in promoting quality education.

The launching concluded with words of encouragement and appreciation, reminding everyone that the success of ARAL lies in the collaboration of pupils, parents, and teachers. With the program now in place, the school community looks forward to a more inclusive and supportive learning environment for all.

🌸✨ Scouting Spirit at Suquib Elementary School! ✨🌸

Today, we were honored by the presence of the Girl Scouts of the Philippines, Mountain Province Chapter, led by Tita Joyce Mariano, together with Tita Agnes and Tita Rose Songaben. 💚💛

They personally visited Suquib Elementary School to extend a heartfelt invitation to our Grade 4 to Grade 6 girls to become part of the Girl Scouts family. Through their inspiring words and encouragement, they reminded us all of the value of Scouting — building character, leadership, service, and lifelong friendships. 🌍🤝

We are truly grateful to our dear Titas for taking the time to come over and share the importance of joining this meaningful organization. Your dedication to nurturing the next generation of Girl Scouts is deeply appreciated! 🌿🌟

👏 Thank you, Tita Joyce, Tita Agnes, and Tita Rose, for keeping the Scouting flame alive in our community. May more girls be inspired to join and discover the joy of Scouting adventures! 💫💚
