The BISU-Bilar Campus Computer Science Department, through the Computing Society, successfully conducted its 1st General Assembly for Academic Year 2026โ2027 yesterday at the BISU-Bilar Activity Center.
The event officially marked the beginning of another exciting academic year, bringing together Computer Science students, faculty members, and organization officers to strengthen the department's commitment to excellence, innovation, leadership, and student engagement.
The program commenced with attendance through UniScan, followed by the opening prayer, singing of the national and university hymns, and the opening remarks delivered by Mr. Joel A. Piollo, MATCS, Chairperson of the Computer Science Department. Engr. Cecilia T. Gumanoy, MIS, Adviser of the Computing Society, presented the purpose of the assembly, while Dr. Nelia Q. Catayas, PhD, Dean of the College of Technology, shared an inspiring message encouraging students to strive for excellence both inside and outside the classroom.
The assembly also featured the presentation of the Financial Report and Balance for Academic Year 2025โ2026 by Jiemuel Y. Cabacoy, Former President of the Computing Society. This was followed by the presentation of the organization's upcoming activities by Daniel Lachica, President of the Computing Society. Students were introduced to the Student Circle of Knowledge (SCK) by Darrel A. Cardaรฑa, MIS, Co-Adviser of the Computing Society, while Engr. Max Angelo Perin, DIT, Adviser of Fullstack Masters, officially launched the Weekly Programming Challenge Season 3. The program concluded with the closing remarks delivered by Sir Rex Vincent Tejada, MIS, followed by attendance time-out through UniScan.

These initiatives aim to provide students with opportunities to enhance their technical knowledge, leadership skills, creativity, teamwork, and professional growth while building a stronger and more connected Computer Science community.
