A SALUTE TO ALL HEROES

The Philippine Navy joins the nation in commemorating this year's National Heroes' Day. It becomes even more relevant and inspiring as our modern and everyday heroes -- the brave and gallant uniformed and civilian frontline personnel -- continue to selflessly serve and help alleviate our countrymen from all types of ordeal.

It is an opportune time to hold in high esteem those men and women who have been able to exemplify selflessness, courage and greatness in the face of adversity. These were the same qualities embodied by our national heroes many years ago that gave us the freedom we enjoy today.

Let us continue to emulate the life and legacy of our national heroes. The innate Filipino heroic qualities must be reinforced with modern mindsets as we perform our sworn duties to protect the people and secure our future.
