During our general assembly on August 15, 2015, AY 2014–2015 President Gerry Gonzales presented the President’s Report. Vice-President Melissa Ramos presented the Treasurer’s Report on behalf of Treasurer Richard Victoria. Following are the highlights:
MULTI-SECTORAL MEETING. This is an annual meeting with the faculty association, school administration, and parents association. One of the main items discussed during this meeting is the tuition fee increase for the upcoming school year. The board was able to negotiate for a 3% increase in tuition, as well as the integration of PA dues and Family Day shirts in the tuition fee assessment (as part of miscellaneous fees).
FAMILY DAY. The biggest project last year offered various activities for students, parents, and other family members such as the fun run for preschool, exhibition games for moms and dads, outdoor cinema, and fireworks. Although not intended as a fund-raising activity, Family Day nonetheless had an income of P141,787.19. We were able to produce 1,800 copies of a full-color souvenir program which was distributed for free to students, advertisers, and booth locators.
OTHER PROJECTS. Acceptance and full payment was given to Golden Star Technology Philippines, Inc. for the 12 solar lights installed along the perimeter of the LC2 building in AY 2013–2014. The PA participated in last school year’s Trick or Treat, Area Meet, and World Teacher’s Day either by organizing activities or providing funding.
UPCOMING PROJECTS. Among the projects under consideration are lifelong learning seminars, strategic planning sessions, and the creation of an operations manual. The latter two aim to identify goals, budget allocations, set basic standards on work practices and good stewardship of the PA’s resources and encourage continuity from one board to the next.
The treasurer’s report consisted of basic information such as cash in bank, a summary of expenses, receivables, and inventory.
The members discussed the amendments to the by-laws which were voted on during the previous general assembly in September 2014. Since these have not yet been registered with SEC, the 2012 by-laws still apply. As such, the term of the current board is one year and will end in September 2015. The general assembly ended with the election of level representatives and officers for AY 2015–2016. The list of the members of the incoming board will be sent to PA members in a separate email.
A copy of the by-laws, including the proposed amendments, will likewise be sent in a separate email for the general members' review.
Thank you, fellow parents, for your continued support of the PA.
