The University of Eastern Pangasinan Library participated in the Filipiniana Conference (FILCON 2025) with the theme, "Unveiling/Rediscovering Filipiniana: An Update on the State of Filipiniana Collections in the Philippines" The event attended by 235 particpants , was held on October 15-16 at the University of Santo Tomas. Kimberly Hambon Padigos, together with her co-authors Rebecca Tique and Joepepe Acosta, presented the Carlos Bulosan Collection through an institutional poster under Category A, entitled "Delving into the Life and Works of Carlos Bulosan." Dr. Corazon M. Nera, former Director of the Sotero H. Laurel Resource Center, Lyceum of the Philippines University, Member of the Board for Librarians (PRC), CHED Technical Panel for LIS and a proud Binalonian, along with Dr. Rosette Nuera, PAARL President, commended the poster. Although the library didn't win an award in the institutional poster category, the attendees successfully introduced the works of Carlos Bulosan, an advocate for immigrant workers and social justice, showcasing Binalonian pride and heritage.

Last February 22 to 29 the library conducted it's annual library users appreciation week as part of University Library's effort in showing gratitude to all it's library users who unceasingly support every activities or endeavor and continuously utilized and avail of the services of the library.

During the said event, UEP library personnel gave bookmarks and chocolates to selected library users.

Before the year end, last December 18, 2023 UEP Library joined hand with the NSTP, OSA, SSC Officers and University Extension Services Department during the University of Eastern Pangasinan Pamaskong Handog.This is an annual activity of the University that aims to developed the value of sharing and giving among the academic community members for the benefit of its stakeholders.The activity was packed with engaging games,dance performance of SSC/Library personnel, storytelling activity with kids, distribution of school supplies/ reading book kits and gift packs distribution.

Utmost gratitude to all Students, Deans/Program Heads and Faculty and staffs who contributed to the Piso Mula sa Puso Para sa Pagbasa and Book Donation box of the library which was distributed to each departments. Cash donations from Piso Mula sa Puso para sa Pagbasa was used for the purchased of school supplies distributed to the recipients.
Special thanks to Ma'am Gel Alambra who donated books for the kids and Ma'am Monaliza Dela Cruz Abanes for the boxes of Pencils.

ONE OF THE MAJOR STEPS IN PROCESSING A NEW ITEM/ A BOOK
Classification: process of assigning number to an item/ a book so as to be able to shelve the item w/ other items on the same subjects.
The classification system used by UEP Library is the Dewey Decimal Classification System.This was devised by Melvil Dewey in 1873. DDC follows division of knowledge into ten broad categories /the ten main classes(000,100,200,300,400,500,600,700,800,900 )w/c in turn are further divided into ten sections (ex. 100,110,120,130,140,150,160,170,180,190) and divided again into ten sub sections ( ex.100,101,102,103,104,105,106,107,108,109)
Classification number is a number/numbers or a combination of letters and numbers that represents the subject or form of an item being cataloged
