TRANSITION OF MLGOO
October 6, 2026 | DILG Bingawan Field Office

The DILG Bingawan Field Office welcomes LGOO VI Rene D. Ato as the incoming Municipal Local Government Operations Officer (MLGOO) of Bingawan, Iloilo. LGOO VI Rene Ato will serve as Cluster 1 Head and the concurrent MLGOO of Bingawan, Iloilo Field Office.

The transition marks another chapter in the continuing partnership between the DILG and the Local Government Unit of Bingawan in advancing responsive, effective, and accountable local governance.

The transition was highlighted by the presence of Municipal Mayor Hon. Matt P. Palabrica, PhD, and Vice Mayor Hon. Elizabeth Cataluña-Occeña, signifying the continued partnership and support of the LGU for the DILG field office. Also present are outgoing MLGOO Neil Paul A. Fara-on and Cluster 2 Head Jean M. Quistadio.

MLGOO Ato also conducted an interfacing activity with the Punong Barangays of Bingawan, Iloilo

HON. LEO CACHITE took his oath of office as Sangguniang Barangay Member of Guinhulacan being administered by Municipal Mayor Matt P. Palabrica, PhD., today, October 6, 2026 at the Office of the Municipal Mayor, Municipal Building, Bingawan, Iloilo.

Section 45(a), Chapter V of Republic Act No. 7160, otherwise known as the Local Government Code of 1991, provides that permanent vacancies in the Sangguniang Barangay shall be filled by appointment by the Municipal Mayor upon recommendation of the Sangguniang Barangay concerned.

The Municipality of Bingawan extends its heartfelt congratulations and sincere gratitude to Mr. Niel Paul A. Fara-on, Municipal Local Government Operations Officer (MLGOO) of Bingawan, on his well-deserved promotion from LGOO V to LGOO VI.

As he embarks on a new chapter of his career and assumes his new assignment in Libacao, Aklan, the Municipality of Bingawan is grateful for his dedicated service, commitment, and valuable contributions to the municipality and its people.
