Strengthening Local DRRM Systems: PDRRMO Lanao del Sur Continues Ocular Visits in 13 Municipalities

Continuing its commitment to strengthening disaster preparedness and response mechanisms at the local level, the Provincial Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office (PDRRMO) of Lanao del Sur conducted another series of ocular visits to Local Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Offices (LDRRMOs) from May 11–14, 2026.

The PDRRMO team visited the municipalities of Amai Manabilang, Wao, Calanogas, Pagayawan, Binidayan, Masiu, Poona Bayabao, Lumba Bayabao, Maguing, Picong, Malabang, Balabagan, and Kapatagan to assess the current condition and functionality of their respective LDRRMOs.

The activity aimed to identify existing needs and challenges, provide technical guidance to further improve disaster preparedness and emergency response initiatives, and strengthen coordination between the provincial and municipal DRRM offices. The visits also served as an opportunity to discuss strategies for enhancing local disaster risk reduction and management systems across the province.

Through these continuing efforts, the PDRRMO remains steadfast in promoting resilient and disaster-ready communities in Lanao del Sur.
