Early 2028 Presidential Race Takes Shape in Latest Surveys
As the 2028 Philippine presidential election approaches, early preference surveys from firms such as Pulse Asia, Octa Research, WR Numero, and Tangere reveal a developing political landscape that remains highly fluid.
Leading the pack is Sara Duterte, the incumbent Vice President, who consistently posts 31% to 39% support in late 2025 to early 2026 polls. Her strong base in Mindanao and continued backing from supporters of former President Rodrigo Duterte reinforce her frontrunner status.
Trailing behind is Senator Raffy Tulfo, polling between 13% and 28%. Known for his “action-man” public service persona, Tulfo draws cross-class support nationwide.
Former Vice President Leni Robredo maintains a solid 10% to 19% voter base, remaining the leading figure among liberal opposition supporters.
Meanwhile, Senator Risa Hontiveros gains ground in urban areas, polling between 3% and 8% with rising favorability.
Political analysts emphasize that these numbers reflect early voter sentiment and may shift significantly before official candidacies are filed in October 2027. The road to 2028 remains wide open, with alliances, national issues, and campaign strategies expected to reshape the race in the coming years.
