The Gender and Development of Jose R. Reyes Memorial Medical Center reinforced its commitment to gender equality as Ms. Anna Iquin represented the JRRMMC at the 𝐷𝑒𝑝𝑎𝑟𝑡𝑚𝑒𝑛𝑡 𝑜𝑓 𝐻𝑒𝑎𝑙𝑡ℎ 𝐺𝑒𝑛𝑑𝑒𝑟 𝑎𝑛𝑑 𝐷𝑒𝑣𝑒𝑙𝑜𝑝𝑚𝑒𝑛𝑡 𝐹𝑜𝑐𝑎𝑙 𝑃𝑜𝑖𝑛𝑡 𝑆𝑦𝑠𝑡𝑒𝑚 (DOH-GADFPS) 3𝑟𝑑 𝑄𝑢𝑎𝑟𝑡𝑒𝑟 𝑆𝑒𝑐𝑟𝑒𝑡𝑎𝑟𝑖𝑎𝑡 𝑀𝑒𝑒𝑡𝑖𝑛𝑔, taking place from July 20-24, 2026.

The meeting focused on reviewing quarterly accomplishments, aligning policies with the DOH GAD Sectoral Agenda, and strengthening gender mainstreaming across health institutions.

Through these efforts, JRRMMC continues to foster a safe, equitable, and inclusive environment for both our healthcare personnel and the patients we serve. 💜

During this Monday’s Flag Raising Ceremony, our Bahaghari Awardees were once again recognized through the re-awarding of their plaques in honor of their exceptional service and valuable contributions to the Jose R. Reyes Memorial Medical Center.

The ceremony was graced by the members of the Executive Committee, who joined in celebrating the achievements of this year’s Bahaghari Awardees.

Congratulations once again to our outstanding Bahaghari employees! Your dedication and commitment to public service continue to inspire the entire JRRMMC community.

The JRRMMC Gender and Development (GAD) Committee successfully concluded its seminar series, “Love Without Limits and Rights for All,” held on June 23, 2026 (Tuesday) at the Audio-Visual Room. The activity highlighted diversity, inclusivity, and human rights in the workplace and community.

As we reflect on the 2025 Pride Month Celebration, the JRRMMC Gender and Development (GAD) Program reaffirms its commitment to fostering an inclusive, respectful, and equitable environment for all. The celebration served as a meaningful platform to promote awareness, deepen understanding, and uphold the rights, dignity, and well-being of individuals regardless of their s*xual orientation, gender identity, gender expression, and s*x characteristics (SOGIESC).

Through various activities and initiatives, JRRMMC strengthened its advocacy for diversity, inclusion, and non-discrimination, cultivating a culture where employees, patients, and stakeholders are treated with respect, fairness, and dignity. These efforts reflect the institution’s continuing commitment to gender responsiveness and the promotion of equal opportunities for all.

As we celebrate Pride Month 2026, we remain steadfast in advancing an environment that values diversity and promotes mutual respect. 𝗠𝗮𝘆 𝗺𝗴𝗮 𝘂𝘀𝗮𝗽𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗵𝗶𝗻𝗱𝗶 𝗹𝗮𝗻𝗴 𝗼𝗽𝗶𝗻𝘆𝗼𝗻 𝗮𝗻𝗴 𝗸𝗮𝗶𝗹𝗮𝗻𝗴𝗮𝗻—𝗸𝘂𝗻𝗱𝗶 𝗺𝗮𝗹𝗮𝘀𝗮𝗸𝗶𝘁 𝗮𝘁 𝗽𝗮𝗴-𝘂𝗻𝗮𝘄𝗮.

Ang sekswal na oryentasyon ay hindi dapat gawing biro, husgahan, o pag-usapan nang basta-basta. Para sa marami, ito ay isang malalim at personal na paglalakbay na may kasamang takot, pag-aalinlangan, at kung minsan ay panganib. Kaya mahalaga kung paano tayo magsalita—at kung kailan tayo pipiliing manahimik.

Kung wala tayong mabuting, magalang, o makabuluhang sasabihin, mas mabuting huwag na lang magsalita kaysa makasakit. Ang mga salita natin ay maaaring lumikha ng ligtas na espasyo—o kabaliktaran.

On March 26, 2026, the Gender and Development of Jose R. Reyes Memorial Medical Center held its 2nd Tatak JR: Ulirang Babaeng Kawani ni Mang Jose 2026 at Manila Prince Hotel.

This landmark event celebrated and honored JRRMMC’s outstanding women who have exemplified exceptional standards of dedication, service, integrity and leadership. It recognizes individuals who embody the institution’s core values and continually contribute to creating respectful, compassionate and gender-responsive workplace.

The event was graced by the Executive Committee, led by JRRMMC’s Medical Center Chief II, Dr. Wenceslao S. Llauderes, together with the Chief of Medical Professional Staff II, Dr. Zharlah G. Flores, Chief Nurse, Mr. Joseph T. Gatchalian, CAO for Finance, Mr. Jayson G. Dela Cruz, and CAO for HOPSS, Atty. Ruela C. Mendoza, whose presence underscored the institution’s full support for this landmark celebration.

In line with the celebration of Women’s Month, the Department of Behavioral Medicine successfully conducted a lecture entitled “The Courage to Take Up Space: Confidence in Women.”

The session highlighted the importance of empowering women to recognize their worth, embrace their voices, and confidently claim their place in both personal and professional spaces. Participants were encouraged to cultivate self-belief, resilience, and courage in navigating challenges and opportunities.

The lecture was delivered by Dr. Ernestine Baroña, FPNA, who shared valuable insights on fostering confidence and encouraging women to stand firm in their strengths and aspirations.

This meaningful discussion serves as a reminder that every woman has the strength and capability to lead, inspire, and make a difference. Together, let us continue to support and uplift women in every space they choose to occupy.
