A total of 82,500 pieces of bangus fingerlings were distributed to 28 fishpond operators engaged in bangus production. The Bangus Dispersal Program is a government initiative led by the Bureau of Fisheries and Aquatic Resources in partnership with the City Government of Bislig to boost local aquaculture production and provide sustainable livelihood opportunities for registered fisherfolks, particularly fishpond operators.

We extend our heartfelt gratitude to the Bureau of Fisheries and Aquatic Resources for its continued support to the aquaculture sector.

The City Agriculture Office – Fisheries Division jointly conducted sea-borne patrolling operations with the Philippine National Police Maritime Group and LGU Bantay Dagat on May 5, 2026 at 10:30 PM until May 6, 2026 at 7:30 AM.

The operation resulted in the apprehension of nine fishing boats operating without licenses and one compressor or “buso” fishing boat with fishing gears. The activity aims to strengthen the enforcement of fisheries laws and regulations and ensure the protection and sustainability of marine resources.

Profiling and ongoing geotagging of farms are continuously being conducted to establish an updated database of agricultural areas and farmers. This activity aims to improve monitoring, planning, and implementation of agricultural programs and interventions, as well as ensure accurate identification of beneficiaries and farm locations.
