BISLIG CITY JOINS NATIONWIDE SIMULTANEOUS ANTI-RABIES VACCINATION DRIVE FOR ANIMALS

"Zero by 30"

COMMUNITY UNITED FOR RABIES-FREE BISLIG

Residents, volunteers, and local leaders came together on March 11, 2026, for the Nationwide Simultaneous Anti-Rabies Vaccination Drive for Animals in Purok 3 Caramcam, Mangagoy, Bislig City, demonstrating their shared commitment to protecting both pets and people. The activity was supported by the City Government of Bislig through the City Veterinary Services Office (CVSO), aimed to promote responsible pet ownership and ensure that dogs in the community receive life-saving anti-rabies vaccinations.

Pet owners proudly brought their dogs to participate in the initiative, highlighting the strong bond between families and their furry companions. Through efforts like this, the community moves closer to the goal of “Zero by 30”, eliminating rabies and creating a safer environment for everyone.

Together, through cooperation and care for animals, we can build a healthier and rabies-free community.

Rabies is 100% preventable, but it is almost always fatal once symptoms appear. Protect yourself, your family, and your pets by staying informed and taking the right precautions.

Here are simple but important steps to stay safe:

💉 Vaccinate your pets yearly
Ensure your dogs and cats receive regular anti-rabies vaccination to keep them protected.

🚫 Avoid contact with stray animals
Do not approach or provoke unfamiliar dogs or cats.

🧼 Wash bite wounds immediately
If bitten or scratched, wash the wound with soap and running water for at least 15 minutes.

🏥 Seek medical help right away
Visit the nearest Animal Bite Treatment Center (ABTC) for proper treatment.

📢 Report animal bites to the LGU
Inform your barangay or the City Veterinary Office to help prevent further cases.

👨‍👩‍👧 Teach children animal safety
Remind children not to tease, hit, or disturb animals—especially while they are eating or sleeping.

By working together, we can keep our community safe and prevent rabies in Bislig City.

ANTI-RABIES VACCINATION 2026

The City Veterinary Office continued its campaign for a free Anti-Rabies Vaccination in various barangays of Bislig City on January 27–30, 2026. A total of 242 pet owners actively participated by bringing their dogs and cats for vaccination, helping protect both animals and the community. 403 dogs, 64 cats, and 1 monkey were inoculated.

The activity promoted rabies prevention, responsible pet ownership, and basic animal health awareness. Through programs like this, LGU Bislig City continues to strengthen public health and work toward a safer, rabies-free community.
