A HUGE SUCCESS FOR OUR FURPARENTS!
In celebration of World Rabies Day on September 28, 2026, the City Veterinary Services Office (CVSO) and Provincial Veterinary Office (PVO), Surigao del Sur, successfully conducted a FREE Mass Spay and Neuter for Dogs and Cats today, September 25, 2026, at Barangay San Fernando Gym, Bislig City.
This year’s theme, “Stronger Together,” focuses on its purpose: to raise awareness about rabies prevention, advocate for elimination, and highlight global efforts in animal and human vaccination. Spaying and neutering play a vital role in preventing pet overpopulation and building a safer rabies-free community.
A total of 35 cats and dogs (14 cats/21 dogs) from Barangays San Fernando and Poblacion benefited from the program.
Thank you to all responsible pet owners who brought their pets in today. Also, a massive thank you to our dedicated veterinary team who made the activity successful, especially to the Provincial Veterinary Office headed by Dr. Margarito G. La Torre.
Together, let us continue to work together for a healthier, rabies-aware community!
