LGU BISLIG JOINS BETC JOINT PLANNING AND PROGRAMMING CUM STAKEHOLDERS CONSULTATION
The City Government of Bislig under the leadership of City Mayor Florencio C. Garay through the City Administrator's Office - Bislig City- Tourism Operations Division participated in the Biodiversity and Eco-Tourism Corridor (BETC) Joint Planning and Programming (JPP) cm BETC Stakeholders Consultation held on August 28, 2026, at the Molave Hotel, Tagum City.
LGU Bislig was represented by Ms. Lorelei Teresa D. Lim, City Tourism Officer, and Mr. Michael D. Caber, Focal Person for the Culture and the Arts Unit of the Tourism Operations Division.
The consultation was led by the Mindanao Development Authority (MinDA) and commenced with the BETC Orientation, Workshop Overview, and Objectives, presented by Dir. Joan S. Barrera, Director III of the Policy, Planning, and Project Development Office and Mr. Ireneo "Jun" Piong Development Management Officer IV of Mindanao Development Authority (MinDA).
The succeeding workshops were facilitated by Ms. Christine T. Dompor, Supervising Tourism Operations Officer of the Province of Davao de Oro, focusing on the validation of the ecotourism vision, identification of issues and gaps, and selection of priority actions.
The activity proceeded with the Commitments and Next Steps led by Dir. Barrera, followed by a Message of Support from DOT Assistant Regional Director Judy L. Colajo of DOT Region XI.
The participation of LGU Bislig highlights the Cityโs commitment to collaborative planning and regional initiatives that advance biodiversity conservation, sustainable ecotourism, cultural preservation, and inclusive tourism development.
