City Government of Bislig Joins the Celebration of Adoption and Alternative Child Care Week 2026

“Love Makes a Family”

The City Government of Bislig, through the City Social Welfare and Development Office (CSWDO), proudly joins the nationwide celebration of Adoption and Alternative Child Care Week (AACCW) 2026 from June 7–14, 2026, with the inspiring theme, “Love Makes a Family.”

This annual observance highlights the importance of providing every child with a safe, nurturing, and loving family environment. It also serves as an opportunity to raise public awareness about legal adoption, foster care, kinship care, and other alternative child care programs that promote the welfare and protection of children who are unable to remain with their biological families.

In partnership with the National Authority for Child Care (NACC) and the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD), the City Government of Bislig continues to advocate for the rights of every child to grow up in a caring family setting where they can thrive, develop, and achieve their full potential.

The theme “Love Makes a Family” reminds us that families are built not only through blood relations but also through compassion, commitment, and unconditional love. Through adoption and alternative child care, children are given the opportunity to experience belongingness, security, and hope for a brighter future.

The City Government of Bislig successfully attained a HIGHLY FUNCTIONAL rating in the CY 2026 Local Committee on Anti-Trafficking and Violence Against Women and Their Children (LCAT-VAWC) Functionality Assessment.

This achievement reflects the City's strong commitment to the promotion and protection of the rights, welfare, and dignity of women and children. It likewise demonstrates the effectiveness of its institutional mechanisms, inter-agency coordination, and sustained implementation of programs and services aimed at preventing human trafficking and addressing violence against women and their children.

The City Government of Bislig, through the City Social Welfare and Development Office, proudly joins the entire nation in celebrating National Solo Parents Day with the theme: “Hindi ka nag-iisa sa iyong pag-iisa: Yakap at Kalinga para sa solo parent.”

This meaningful observance is anchored in Republic Act No. 11861, or the Expanded Solo Parents Welfare Act, which recognizes the third week of April as Solo Parents Week and the third Saturday of April as National Solo Parents Day. This initiative highlights the strength, resilience, and invaluable contributions of solo parents in building families and communities.

In celebration of this week, we honor every solo parent who continues to face life’s challenges with courage and determination. Your sacrifices, love, and unwavering commitment do not go unnoticed.
