The National Commission on Indigenous Peoples (NCIP) Bislig Community Service Center (CSC) conducted the Validation of Resolution Request for the Barangay Indigenous Peoples Mandatory Representative (IPMR) Selection Process at Barangay Pamaypayan, Bislig City, Surigao del Sur.

The activity aimed to validate and review the resolution submitted by the Indigenous Cultural Communities/Indigenous Peoples (ICCs/IPs) concerning the conduct of the Barangay IPMR Selection Process. The validation ensured that the resolution was duly endorsed by the concerned indigenous community and complied with the applicable guidelines, customary practices, and decision-making processes of the ICCs/IPs.

Through consultations and discussions with community leaders and members, the activity reinforced the importance of meaningful participation of Indigenous Peoples in local governance through the selection of their rightful representative. The process also highlighted the role of the IPMR in advocating for the rights, welfare, and interests of ICCs/IPs within the barangay and local government structures.

The National Commission on Indigenous Peoples (NCIP) Bislig Community Service Center (CSC) conducted the Validation of Resolution Request of the Indigenous Political Structure (IPS) at Barangay San Roque, Lingig, Surigao del Sur.

The activity aimed to validate and review the resolution submitted by the Indigenous Cultural Communities/Indigenous Peoples (ICCs/IPs) concerning matters related to their Indigenous Political Structure. The validation process served as an important mechanism to ensure that the resolution accurately reflects the collective decision, customary practices, and governance systems of the concerned Indigenous community.

Through dialogue and consultation with community leaders and members, the activity reinforced the recognition of the Indigenous Political Structure as a vital institution in preserving indigenous governance, promoting community participation, and safeguarding the rights and interests of Indigenous Peoples.

The National Commission on Indigenous Peoples (NCIP) Bislig Community Service Center (CSC) conducted a Data Gathering activity for the Direct Certificate of Ancestral Domain Title (CADT) Application of the Indigenous Cultural Communities/Indigenous Peoples (ICCs/IPs) in the Municipality of Lingig, Surigao del Sur. The activity was held at Barangay Union, Lingig, Surigao del Sur.

The activity aimed to gather and validate essential data and supporting documents necessary for the processing of the Direct CADT Application. Through close coordination with community members and stakeholders, the NCIP ensured that relevant information pertaining to ancestral domain claims was properly documented and verified.

This initiative is part of the continuing efforts of the NCIP to facilitate the recognition and protection of ancestral domains and to uphold the rights of Indigenous Peoples as enshrined in the Indigenous Peoples’ Rights Act (IPRA) of 1997. The activity also emphasized the importance of preserving cultural heritage, traditional governance systems, and ancestral land tenure through accurate documentation and community participation.

The National Commission on Indigenous Peoples (NCIP) Bislig Community Service Center (CSC) conducted an Information Education Campaign (IEC) regarding the application for a Certificate of Ancestral Domain Title (CADT) at the Barangay Gym of Bogac, Lingig, Surigao del Sur.

The activity aimed to raise awareness among members of the Indigenous Cultural Communities/Indigenous Peoples (ICCs/IPs) regarding the importance of securing a Certificate of Ancestral Domain Title and the procedures involved in its application. Participants were provided with relevant information on ancestral domain rights, the legal basis of CADT applications, and the provisions of the Indigenous Peoples’ Rights Act (IPRA) of 1997.

The IEC also served as a platform for dialogue and information sharing, enabling community members to gain a better understanding of the significance of ancestral domain recognition in protecting their cultural heritage, traditional resources, and collective rights as Indigenous Peoples.
