QUEZON CITY — Ikinagalak ni NCIP Secretary and Chairperson Nancy A. Catamco ang paglulunsad ng bagong gabay sa adhikain ng National Commission on Indigenous Peoples (NCIP):

“𝙈𝙖𝙨𝙖𝙜𝙖𝙣𝙖𝙣𝙜 𝙆𝙖𝙩𝙪𝙩𝙪𝙗𝙤𝙣𝙜 𝙋𝙖𝙢𝙖𝙮𝙖𝙣𝙖𝙣: 𝙎𝙖𝙣𝙙𝙞𝙜𝙖𝙣 𝙣𝙜 𝙋𝙖𝙢𝙗𝙖𝙣𝙨𝙖𝙣𝙜 𝙆𝙖𝙪𝙣𝙡𝙖𝙧𝙖𝙣.”

Ayon kay Sec. Nancy, sumasalamin ang nasabing pahayag sa tunay na diwa ng mandato ng Komisyon na itaguyod ang mas maunlad, empowered, at matatag na mga katutubong pamayanan bilang mahalagang haligi ng pambansang kaunlaran.

“Hindi lamang ito simpleng pahayag kundi isang malinaw na deklarasyon ng ating mandato at layunin bilang isang institusyon,” ani Sec. Nancy.

“Ang masagana at nagkakaisang pamayanang katutubo ay mahalaga hindi lamang sa pagpapanatili ng kultura kundi maging sa pagsusulong ng isang inklusibo at maunlad na bansa,” patuloy niya.

Binigyang-diin ni Sec. Nancy na magsisilbing gabay at panawagan ang bagong adhikain para sa lahat ng opisyal, kawani, at katuwang ng NCIP sa pagpapatupad ng mga programa at patakarang magpapabuti sa kabuhayan, karapatan, at pangkalahatang kalagayan ng mga katutubong Pilipino.

Pinasalamatan din ni Sec. Nancy ang mga bumuo ng nasabing pahayag, na aniya’y sumasalamin sa kolektibong adhikain ng pagkakaisa, pagbibigay-lakas, at pambansang pag-unlad.

“Sa pamamagitan ng adhikaing ito, tayo ay magpapatuloy nang may panibagong sigla at malinaw na direksyon. Tinitiyak natin na walang maiiwang katutubong pamayanan sa ating paglalakbay tungo sa sustenableng kaunlaran,” dagdag pa ni Sec. Nancy.

Muling pinagtibay ni Sec. Nancy ang pangako ng NCIP na manatiling matatag sa pagsusulong at pangangalaga sa karapatan at kapakanan ng mga katutubo bilang mahalagang katuwang sa pagkamit ng tunay at pangmatagalang kaunlaran ng bansa.

The National Commission on Indigenous Peoples is accepting submissions of research papers for the upcoming 𝟮𝟬𝟮𝟲 𝗜𝗻𝗱𝗶𝗴𝗲𝗻𝗼𝘂𝘀 𝗣𝗲𝗼𝗽𝗹𝗲𝘀 𝗥𝗲𝘀𝗲𝗮𝗿𝗰𝗵 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗗𝗲𝘃𝗲𝗹𝗼𝗽𝗺𝗲𝗻𝘁 𝗣𝗿𝗼𝗴𝗿𝗮𝗺 (𝗜𝗣𝗥𝗗𝗣) 𝗖𝗼𝗻𝗳𝗲𝗿𝗲𝗻𝗰𝗲. 📖🔍

It supports research that strengthens ancestral domain governance, cultural integrity, and sustainable development, and empowers IP communities through knowledge generation, documentation, and culturally grounded policymaking.
