Bislig City Division Takes the Lead in Elevating ALS Module Quality Across the Region

In adherence to Regional Memorandum No. 1051, s. 2025, the Schools Division Office (SDO) of Bislig City served as the host for the Regional Training-Workshop on the Quality Assurance, Validation, and Finalization of Division-Initiated Modules held on October 14–17, 2025, at the Bislig City Function Farm and Restaurant, Bogac District, Mangagoy, Bislig City.

This four-day professional learning engagement was designed to:
a. Acquaint participants with the rules, standards, and policies governing the development, evaluation, and validation of division-initiated ALS modules;
b. Apply instructional design principles in revising division-developed ALS modules to enhance clarity, relevance, and learner alignment;
c. Implement standardized validation protocols to ensure the quality assurance and contextual responsiveness of learning resources; and
d. Collaborate in the refinement and finalization of modules for inclusion in the Regional Learning Resource Management and Development System (LRMDS).

The training was graced by LRMDS team speakers, the Regional ALS Focal Person, Division ALS Focal Persons, Education Program Specialists II, and ALS Teacher-Writers, comprising the Development Team and the Quality Assurance (QA) Team from 12 participating divisions across the region.

This meaningful collaboration underscored the collective commitment of the Alternative Learning System community to uphold excellence in learning resource development. By ensuring that ALS modules meet both quality and contextual standards, the activity strengthens the delivery of inclusive, relevant, and learner-centered education for all.

Monitoring and Evaluation (M&E) for the Opening of ALS Classes, SY 2025–2026

The Monitoring and Evaluation (M&E) activity was spearheaded by Chief Eric Corpuz of PQUAD, BAE, who upon arrival, paid a courtesy call to SDS Gemma A. De Paz and held a meet-and-greet with the CID personnel led by Chief Nonita C. Patalinghug, PhD. After the courtesy call, the team proceeded with in-person visits at the ALS & Community Tech4Ed Learning Center and Mangagoy North ES, where they facilitated a Focused Group Discussion (FGD) with ALS teachers.

The activity proved meaningful as it served as a venue for ALS teachers to raise their concerns, clarify issues, and seek direct guidance from the Central Office, Regional, and SDO personnel. Many questions were addressed, and teachers felt reassured that their voices were heard and valued.

The second part of the visit was conducted at the BJMP City and District Jails, where the monitoring team engaged with PDL learners, highlighting the importance of making education inclusive and accessible even in custodial settings.

This was followed by another FGD at Bislig Central ES ALS Learning Center, attended by ALS teachers together with Principal Genevieve B. Dela Rita, PSDSs W***y C. Dumpit (Bislig 1A), Maria Cristina L. Arpilleda (Bislig 2C), Evelyn B. Lesiguez, PhD (Bislig 2A), and EPS Lilifreda P. Almazan. The session provided a platform to discuss issues, share insights, and further strengthen collaboration among school leaders, supervisors, and teachers.

We extend our sincere appreciation to all the teachers who supported this activity, especially Ma’am Eliza Andoy, Sir Jasper Masangkay, and Ma’am Rolette Reclussado of Bislig Central ES, as well as the men and women of BJMP City and District Jails for their cooperation. Special recognition is also given to SDS Ma’am Gemma A. De Paz, ALS Focal Person Sir Vic Odtohan, CID Chief Nonita Patalinghug, Regional ALS Focal Person Ma’am Josephine Chonie Obsenares, EPSA Rowena F. Acevedo, and EPSA Angelina A. Sebog, whose guidance and leadership greatly contributed to the success of this undertaking.

Overall, the monitoring activity was successfully conducted, ensuring that learners’ needs and teachers’ concerns were properly addressed. More importantly, it strengthened collaboration across all levels of leadership and reaffirmed the collective commitment to deliver accessible, inclusive, and responsive ALS programs for the community.

Ensuring Accuracy: Division-Level Document Checking for ALS A&E Passers Ahead of Graduation

To ensure the accuracy of learner documents and to prevent discrepancies before graduation or promotion to the next level, a Division-Level Document Checking is being conducted. This process allows for the immediate correction of any errors, such as misspellings or incorrect LRN entries, ensuring the integrity of learner records.

We sincerely thank our dedicated ALS teachers for their time and effort in thoroughly reviewing and verifying learner documents. Your commitment is crucial in upholding the standards of our educational system.

Kudos to the ALS Implementers of Bislig City Division for their continued dedication and excellence in service!

DepEd Caraga Regional Monitoring & Evaluation Team 2025: Learning Enhancement Program

We joyfully celebrate the remarkable success of 31 Accreditation & Equivalency (A&E) Test Takers who have transitioned from Conditional Passer status to becoming official A&E Passers! This moment marks a significant milestone—not just in their academic journey, but in their lives.

This achievement was made possible through the dedicated leadership of Regional ALS Focal Ma’am Josephine Chonie Obseñares, in collaboration with Division ALS Focal Sir Victor Odtohan, and with the consistent support of our ever-reliable EPSAs: Ma’am Angelina A. Sebog and Ma’am Rowena F. Acevedo.

We also recognize the valuable contributions of our dynamic School Heads—Ma’am Genevieve dela Rita of Bislig CES, Sir Leo V. Vallejo of MNES, and Ma’am Louella Luisa A. Millan of San Roque CES—as well as the guidance and support of our dedicated PSDS, Dr. Imelda N. Siano. Special thanks to Sir Jasper Masangkay and Ma’am Elisa Andoy for going the extra mile to ensure the success of this program.

Our sincere appreciation also goes to the ALS teachers and learners of the Bislig City Division, whose commitment, enthusiasm, and perseverance brought this vision to life.

Through shared effort and determination, all 31 learners have now met the required competencies—a truly inspiring achievement that speaks volumes of their grit and resilience.

During a heartfelt moment, Ma'am Chonie asked the learners, “How do you feel now that you are finally passers?” Their faces lit up with joy as they replied,
“We are very excited to attend the graduation program!”

This victory is not just academic—it’s a powerful reminder of what can be achieved through second chances, responsive interventions, and a community that believes in every learner’s potential.

With the endorsement of our Schools Division Superintendent, Ma’am Gemma A. De Paz, certificates of completion were officially issued, signifying their transition to full A&E Passers. The updated masterlist is also being prepared for submission to the Bureau of Alternative Education (BAE).

To everyone who, in one way or another, contributed to making this milestone possible—thank you. Your efforts created a meaningful impact in the lives of our learners and educators alike.

Congratulations to all our newly certified A&E Passers! Your journey does not end here—it continues with even greater promise, purpose, and possibilities. Keep soaring high.
