On May 22, 2025, a meaningful and enriching educational tour was organized by the TAWAG Resource Center, led by Ms. Glory Christ E. Manlucob, LPT through the City Social Welfare and Development Office (CSWDO) headed by Mr. Grover S. Viduya, RSW. The activity was specifically designed for children and youth with special needs, ensuring a safe, inclusive, and sensory-friendly experience for all participants.
The tour included two major destinations: the CENRO Bislig Arboretum Cum Rest and Recreation Area and the iconic Tinuy-an Falls. These natural attractions provided the participants with an opportunity to explore and connect with the environment in a supportive and engaging way.
At the CENRO Bislig Arboretum, the group engaged in guided nature walks, where they were introduced to various species of plants and trees, and learned about the importance of environmental conservation. The peaceful and structured environment of the arboretum proved to be ideal for the sensory needs of the participants, allowing them to fully enjoy and absorb the experience.
The second leg of the tour took them to Tinuy-an Falls, often referred to as the "Little Niagara of the Philippines." The majestic view of the cascading waters, along with the sound and feel of nature, offered a calming and awe-inspiring moment for the children and youth. Activities were thoughtfully planned to ensure accessibility and comfort, enabling every participant to appreciate the natural wonder at their own pace.
Overall, the educational tour was a resounding success. It not only offered a break from routine but also served as a platform for learning, exploration, and social interaction.
The commitment of the TAWAG Resource Center and the CSWDO to providing inclusive and enriching experiences was evident throughout the activity, reflecting their dedication to the holistic development and well-being of children and youth with special needs
