LOOK || ALPHA AVENGER COMPANY, 71ST INFANTRY “KAIBIGAN” BATTALION, PHILIPPINE ARMY LEADS COCONUT PLANTING ACTIVITY

The Alpha (Avenger) Company, 71st Infantry “Kaibigan” Battalion, Philippine Army, together with the Barangay Advocacy Team for West Philippine Sea (BAT 4 WPS) Burgos Chapter, Burgos Municipal Police Station, 105th Maneuver Company, 1st RMFB, and the Barangay Officials of San Pascual, conducted a Coconut Planting Activity in Brgy. San Pascual, Burgos, Pangasinan, resulting in the planting of 250 coconut seedlings to promote environmental conservation, sustainable agriculture, and community participation.

This initiative reflects the strong partnership among the military, police, local government, and community stakeholders in protecting the environment and advancing sustainable development. Through unity and shared responsibility, the activity contributes to building a greener, safer, and more resilient community.

The 702nd Infantry (DEFENDER) Brigade welcomed Assistant Secretary James A. Layug, MNSA, of the Department of Agriculture (DA), and Vice-Chairperson, Socio-Economic Cluster of NTF WPS and Chairperson, Poverty Reduction, Livelihood and Employment Cluster (PRLEC) of NTF ELCAC during a courtesy visit and coordination meeting at Headquarters, 702nd Infantry Brigade, Camp Lt Tito B. Abat, Manaoag, Pangasinan, on August 18, 2026.

The engagement brought together representatives from the DA Regional Field Office 1, Bureau of Fisheries and Aquatic Resources (BFAR) RFO 1, along with the Brigade Key Leaders, Battalion Commanders under JTG DEFENDER, and Commander TG KAAKIBAT

The Battalion Commanders under JTG DEFENDER presented their proposed projects and initiatives for fisherfolk communities, geographically isolated and disadvantaged areas (GIDA), and People's Organizations (POs) within their respective areas of operations (AO). Discussions also highlighted initiatives supporting fisherfolk and coastal communities, particularly in relation to the West Philippine Sea (WPS), where stronger government presence, livelihood support, and community resilience remain vital.

The DA likewise presented its initiatives and programs in support of the National Task Force to End Local Communist Armed Conflict (NTF-ELCAC), emphasizing the importance of harmonizing development interventions with government efforts to address the root causes of conflict and strengthen vulnerable communities.

The coordination meeting provided an avenue to align the proposed projects of JTG DEFENDER units with the programs and resources of the DA and its partner agencies, particularly those aimed at strengthening livelihoods, improving access to government support, and addressing the needs of communities.

Through a whole-of-government approach, the JTG DEFENDER remains committed to supporting initiatives that promote resilient communities, sustainable livelihoods, strengthened WPS awareness and engagement, and lasting peace and development across its area of responsibility.

Alinsunod sa direktiba ni PDRRMC Chairman Gov. Ramon V. Guico III, agad kumilos ang Pangasinan PDRRMO kasama ang 71st Infantry Battalion ng Philippine Army, para magbigay ng tulong sa rescue operations ng LGU at MDRRMO Calasiao upang ligtas na mailikas ang mga residente na apektado ng pagbaha sa Brgy. Mancup.

Patuloy naman ang 24/7 monitoring, koordinasyon at mabilis na pagtugon ng Pamahalaang Panlalawigan sa mga lugar na nakararanas ng epekto ng kalamidad, upang matiyak ang kaligtasan ng bawat Pangasinense.

In commemoration of the 10th Anniversary of the 2016 Arbitral Award, the National Peace Walk 2026 was successfully conducted through the efforts of the 71st Infantry (Kaibigan) Battalion, led by LTC CHRISTOPHER C MANIMTIM INF (GSC) PA, Commanding Officer. The activity brought together representatives from national government agencies, local government units, uniformed services, civil society organizations, educational institutions, and other stakeholders in support of peace, unity, and the country’s sovereignty and maritime interests.

The peace walk raised public awareness of the significance of the 2016 Arbitral Award, promoted respect for international law, and emphasized the importance of unity, responsible citizenship, and collective action in protecting the country’s sovereign rights through peaceful and lawful means.

The National Peace Walk 2026 reaffirmed the shared commitment of every Filipino to uphold peace, safeguard national sovereignty, and contribute to building a secure, resilient, and united nation.

✅🌊Ang 2016 Arbitral Tribunal Award ay nagbigay-linaw sa mga karapatan ng Pilipinas sa ilalim ng UNCLOS at pinagtibay na walang legal na batayan ang inaangking "historical rights" ng China.

Mahalagang ang ating paninindigan ay nakabatay sa katotohanan at sa batas.
