“Ang Bawat Hakbang Pasulong ay Pagpupugay sa mga Hindi Kailanman Umurong.”

BONGABONG, ORIENTAL MINDORO — Bilang pakikiisa sa paggunita ng Araw ng Kagitingan, matagumpay na isinagawa noong 09 Abril 2026 ang isang makabuluhang Flag
Raising Ceremony sa Mindoro State University – Bongabong Campus.

Ang nasabing aktibidad ay pinangunahan ng mga tauhan ng H17RCDG at 1701CDC sa pamumuno ni COL NAPOLEON G PABON JR INF (GSC) PA, kasama ang mga Advance ROTC Cadets ng MinSU Bongabong na siyang aktibong lumahok sa seremonya.

Layunin ng gawain na bigyang-pugay ang kabayanihan, sakripisyo, at di matitinag na diwa ng mga Pilipinong lumaban para sa kalayaan ng bansa. Ang Araw ng Kagitingan ay patuloy na nagsisilbing paalala ng katapangan at pagkakaisa ng ating mga bayani sa gitna ng matinding pagsubok—isang pamana ng inspirasyon para sa kasalukuyan at sa mga susunod pang henerasyon.

Sa mensahe ng pamunuan, binigyang-diin ang kahalagahan ng pagpapanatili ng diwa ng patriotismo at ang mahalagang papel ng kabataan, lalo na ng mga ROTC Cadets, sa pagpapatuloy ng adhikaing ipagtanggol ang bayan. Ang kanilang partisipasyon ay sumasalamin sa patuloy na paghubog ng mga responsableng mamamayan na handang tumugon sa hamon ng paglilingkod at pagtatanggol sa bansa.

Ang aktibidad ay bahagi ng patuloy na pagsisikap na mapalalim ang diwa ng pagkakaisa, mapalakas ang makabayang kamalayan, at mahikayat ang bawat Pilipino na maging kabahagi sa pangangalaga ng kalayaan at kinabukasan ng bansa.

Sa pag-alala sa kanilang kabayanihan, nawa’y magsilbi itong inspirasyon upang patuloy nating isabuhay ang pagmamahal sa bayan—hindi lamang sa salita, kundi higit sa lahat, sa gawa.

17RCDG ENGAGES BARANGAY LEADERS IN BONGABONG, STRENGTHENS SUPPORT FOR COMMUNITY AGRICULTURE COOPERATIVE

BONGABONG, ORIENTAL MINDORO — The regular weekly meeting of barangay chairpersons from six (6) barangays was successfully conducted on March 27, 2026 at Barangay Sagana, reinforcing collaboration between local government units and the 17th Regional Community Defense Group, Reserve Command, Philippine Army.

Held every Friday at 7:00 AM, the meeting gathered key community leaders, with Barangay Sagana Chairperson Hon. Edgar M. Valdez serving as host. Other barangay chairpersons and representatives, including councilors acting on behalf of absent chairpersons, were also in attendance.

Representing the Group Commander, Colonel Napoleon G. Pabon Jr., Colonel Alejandro D. Malaran, Deputy Group Commander of 17RCDG, RESCOM, PA, presided over the meeting. He was joined by Lt Colonel Dave Marquez, Group Executive Officer, along with civilian human resources and enlisted personnel. Also present was 1Lt Patrick Joe P. Rodriguez, Commanding Officer of Bravo Company, 11B, 2ID, PA.

A key highlight of the meeting was the ongoing development of the United Reservist Community Agriculture Cooperative (URCA). Participants discussed the status of its registration, noting that the group is currently awaiting the release of the Pre-Registration Seminar Certificate from the Cooperative Development Authority (CDA), a vital requirement for full registration.

Barangay leaders expressed strong support for the cooperative, with increasing interest from community members eager to participate in its programs and initiatives. The meeting further emphasized unity, cooperation, and shared responsibility in advancing sustainable livelihood opportunities and strengthening grassroots development.

The continued engagement between 17RCDG and local stakeholders underscores a shared commitment to empowering communities through organized, community-based initiatives.

17RCDG Welcomes RAATI Team and Party During Official Visit

Bongabong, Oriental Mindoro — The 17th Regional Community Defense Group (17RCDG), Reserve Command, Philippine Army, warmly received the Chairperson of the ROTC Annual Administrative and Tactical Inspection (RAATI), Colonel Virgilio C. Hamos Jr., together with the RAATI Team, during their official visit on 07 April 2026 at Headquarters, 17RCDG, KM 6, Brgy. San Juan, Bongabong, Oriental Mindoro.

Colonel Hamos currently serves as the Assistant Division Commander for Reservist and Retiree Affairs (ADCRRA) of the 2nd Infantry (Jungle Fighter) Division, Philippine Army. Upon arrival, he was accorded arrival honors and received by the Acting Group Commander, Colonel Napoleon G. Pabon Jr., together with the unit’s officers, enlisted personnel, and civilian human resource staff.

As part of the reception, Colonel Pabon formally introduced his staff during the reception line. This was followed by a photo opportunity in front of the Administration Building and a guestbook signing, marking the official commencement of the visit.

An information briefing was subsequently conducted for Colonel Hamos and his party, presenting a comprehensive overview of the unit’s history, mission, disposition and location of troops, current readiness condition of both regular and reserve forces, significant accomplishments, and strategic directions moving forward. Also present during the visit was Colonel Armand F. Rico PA (Res), Commandant of the Mindoro State University ROTC Unit.

In his remarks, Colonel Hamos expressed his deep appreciation for the unit’s newly established headquarters and commended its notable accomplishments and innovative initiatives. He particularly highlighted the unit’s exceptional performance and progress, noting that it has exceeded expectations despite being the youngest Regional Community Defense Group under the Reserve Command, Philippine Army.

In response, Colonel Pabon conveyed his sincerest gratitude to Colonel Hamos for taking the time to visit the new 17RCDG Headquarters despite his demanding schedule. He also expressed appreciation for Colonel Hamos’ personal effort to inspect and witness the unit’s permanent camp location, noting that he is among the first senior officers to visit the headquarters since its establishment last year. Colonel Pabon reaffirmed the unit’s commitment to continuously enhance operational readiness, strengthen reservist development programs, and uphold the highest standards of service.

The visit underscores the continuing commitment of leadership to strengthen collaboration, reinforce organizational excellence, and ensure that the welfare, morale, and professional development of both active personnel and reservists remain a top priority.

The United Reservist Community Agriculture – Cooperative (URCA) conducted its continued meeting on 20 March 2026 at Brgy Sta. Cruz under the leadership of COL NAPOLEON G PABON JR INF (GSC) PA, Acting Group Commander 17RCDG (P) RESCOM, PA, with the participation of officers, enlisted personnel, civilian human resources, and Hon. Arnold E Vargas of Brgy Sta Cruz as the host for the venue and the four (4) nearby barangay chairmen, Hon. Virgilio D Artillaga of Brgy San Juan, Hon. Diosdado G Ilao of Brgy Formon, Hon Edgar M Valdez of Brgy Sagana and other Brgy. Councilors.

During the meeting, members discussed the status of the cooperative’s registration and are currently awaiting the release of the Pre-Registration Seminar Certificate from the Cooperative Development Authority (CDA), a key requirement for full registration. 📄⏳

Continued Meeting for United Reservist Community Agriculture – Cooperative (URCA)

The United Reservist Community Agriculture – Cooperative (URCA) Cooperative held another meeting on 13 March 2026 at Brgy Formon under the leadership of COL NAPOLEON G PABON JR INF (GSC) PA, Acting Group Commander 17RCDG (P) RESCOM, PA, with the participation of officers, enlisted personnel, civilian human resources, and nearby barangay chairmen, including Hon. Arnold E Vargas ng Brgy Sta Cruz, Hon. Virgilio D Artillaga ng Brgy San Juan, Hon. Diosdado G Ilao ng Brgy Formon, Hon. Efren B Culla ng Brgy Bukal at Hon Edgar M Valdez ng Brgy Sagana and other Brgy. councilors

The meeting also welcomed its new member 1Lt PATRICK JOE P RODRIGUEZ (INF) PA, Commanding Officer, Bravo Company 1IB, 2ID, PA, who expressed interest in actively participating in the cooperative initiatives. The session focused on keeping everyone informed and engaged in the cooperative’s ongoing activities.

During the meeting, original members provided updates and encouraged interested members to ask questions and share suggestions, ensuring that the cooperative remains transparent and responsive to everyone’s needs.

Another key topic addressed was the collection of share capital. Members were reminded of the importance of contributing their shares, which serve as the financial backbone of the cooperative. These contributions allow the cooperative to fund projects and expand services for all members.

The meeting also emphasized the cooperative’s commitment to fostering a sense of community among all participants. By actively participating and supporting the cooperative’s initiatives, strengthen the organization as a whole.

Finally, all attendees were thanked for their continued support and encouraged to stay engaged in future meetings. Their active involvement is essential for the URCA Cooperative’s growth, sustainability, and the achievement of its shared goals.

Soldiers, Reservists and ROTC Cadets of 17RCDG (P) unite as heroes in Blood Donation activity to celebrate the 129th PA Anniversary.

In celebration of the 129th Anniversary of the Philippine Army with the theme “Ang Inyong Matatag na Hukbong Katihan,”, the 17th Regional Community Defense Group (P), RESCOM, PA successfully conducted the 9th RESCOM, PA-Wide Simultaneous Blood Donation Activity on 07 March 2026 across the MIMAROPA Region. The activity was conducted in coordination with Ms. Ma. Beth M. Aquino, Ms. Daizy E. Escarez and Ms. Elenila A. Mañibo of the Oriental Mindoro Blood Council, mobilizing soldiers, reservists, and ROTC cadets in a collective life-saving effort.
The activity was simultaneously carried out by the five (5) Community Defense Centers (CDCs) under 17RCDG (P), RESCOM, PA within their respective areas. The initiative demonstrated the spirit of volunteerism and service of both citizen-soldiers and regular force personnel from different units. Through this activity, participating personnel extended their support to the community by donating blood to help save lives, further strengthening the bond between the military and the civilian sector.

The blood donation activity was conducted with the support of public hospitals, health organizations, and non-government organizations, highlighting strong civil-military collaboration for humanitarian causes. The activity was led by Acting Group Commander, 17RCDG (P), RESCOM, PA. Said activity served as a meaningful initiative that brought together soldiers and community members in support of the blood donation drive. Through this act of generosity, we strengthen our shared commitment to saving lives and serving the people.

🇵🇭 Under one flag, we honor duty, discipline, and service. Today 09 March 2026, the Officers, Enlisted Personnel and Civilian Human Resources of H17RCDG, RESCOM, PA, conducted the Flag Raising. The ceremony served as a solemn reminder of our duty, discipline, and unwavering commitment to service under the national colors.

The ceremony was followed by the Donning of Ranks of newly promoted enlisted personnel, personally pinned by COL NAPOLEON G PABON JR INF (GSC) PA, Acting Group Commander 17RCDG (P) RESCOM, PA, recognizing their hard work, dedication, and exemplary performance. This symbolic act reflects the organization’s commitment to honor, reward, and motivate its personnel.

Every rise of the flag and pinning of the ranks embodies the courage, professionalism, and values that guide 17RCDG (P), RESCOM, PA. The event reinforced the importance of service, integrity, and excellence, inspiring all personnel to uphold the highest standards of duty. ✨

🌱🪖 “Mission Green: Trees planted, community secured! 💪

On 08 March, 2026, the personnel from Headquarters 17th Regional Community Defense Group (RCDG), RESCOM, PA (RCPA), led by LTC ESTEBAN M SIADING JR (AGS) PA, under the leadership of COL NAPOLEON G PABON JR INF (GSC) PA, Acting Group Commander 17RCDG (P), participated in a clean-up drive and tree planting activity at Brgy Dalahican, Roxas, Oriental Mindoro, in collaboration with the ROTC units of John Paul College (JPC) Roxas, Oriental Mindoro, and the 1701 Ready Reserve Infantry Battalion (1701RRIBn). 🌱🌳🇵🇭

Also present during the activity were personnel from the 5th Scout Ranger Battalion (SRB), First Scout Ranger Regiment (FSRR), SOCOM, PA; 1st Infantry Battalion, 2nd Infantry Division, PA; Bureau of Fire Protection; Philippine Coast Guard; LGU Waste Management; and Forest Rangers, demonstrating strong inter-agency support and teamwork in serving the community. 🤝🚒🚢

The activity aims to promote environmental protection, maintain cleanliness in the community, and encourage everyone to take part in preserving nature. On 04 March 2026 The Cooperative
Development Authority – MIMAROPA successfully conducted a Pre-Registration Seminar (PRS) for the proposed Agriculture Cooperative of 17RCDG, RCPA, under the leadership of COL NAPOLEON G PABON JR INF (GSC) PA, Acting Group Commander together with six (6) nearby barangay.

The seminar was facilitated by Mr. Christion B. De Ade, Cooperative Development Specialist II from the Cooperative Development Authority (CDA) Lalud, Calapan City, Oriental Mindoro.

The seminar was attended by 35 original members and aimed to orient on the principles, responsibilities, and requirements in establishing a cooperative, as well as the proper procedures for registration.

Through this seminar, participants gained valuable knowledge on cooperative values, management, and the importance of unity and collaboration in building a sustainable and progressive cooperative organization.

A meaningful step towards strengthening cooperation, compliance, and community development.
