๐ˆ๐ ๐…๐Ž๐‚๐”๐’: As part of the Management of the Dead and Missing Persons (MDM) Training, participants conducted a simulation exercise to apply the knowledge and skills gained during the three-day activity.

Barangay Health Workers from Barangay Samoki were tapped to serve as actors during the simulation exercise, helping create realistic emergency scenarios for the participants.

Throughout the exercise, participants applied the lessons learned in the various phases of MDM operations, including Search, Rescue and Retrieval (SRR) Operations, Disaster Victim Identification, Disposition or Final Arrangement of Bodies, Management of Missing Persons, and Management of Bereaved Families.

The simulation exercise also involved the establishment of critical MDM facilities such as the Collection Area, facility for body identification and documentation, Temporary Morgue, Viewing Area, One-Stop-Shop for Data Collection and Data Reconciliation, Missing Persons Center, and Bereaved Family Holding Area.

Among the actions undertaken during the simulation exercise were SRR operations, documentation and tagging procedures, management of missing and deceased individuals, final arrangement of the dead, and provision of support services for bereaved families.

The simulation exercise was considered an essential component of the training, aimed at preparing responders and frontliners for large-scale emergencies such as earthquakes, landslides, and other calamities involving loss of life. The ability to manage such situations professionally and compassionately is crucial not only for maintaining operational order but also for ensuring dignity and respect for victims and their families.
