HERE | Twenty-five distressed Overseas Filipino Workers (OFWs) in Mountain Province received financial assistance from the Overseas Workers Welfare Administration (OWWA) today, June 3, 2026, at the OWWA-CAR Mountain Province Field Office in Bontoc.

The assistance includes 17 beneficiaries for the Balik Pinas Balik Hanapbuhay Program (BPHP), which provides reintegration support and livelihood opportunities; 7 for medical assistance to help with healthcare needs; and 1 beneficiary received bereavement aid to support with the loss of a loved one.

The program was led by Jennifer Morrison, Family Welfare Officer of OWWA-CAR, Mountain Province Field Office. She shared that the assistance aims to help Unfinished Contracts/Distressed OFWs with reintegration, medical needs, and support during difficult times, ensuring they have resources to rebuild and recover.

OWWA continues to provide support to OFWs and their families, emphasizing its commitment to protecting and empowering workers abroad.

President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. leads the ceremonial turnover of the Socio-Civic Projects Fund (SCPF) Financial Assistance during a meet and greet with the Presidential Scholars at the Rizal Memorial Coliseum in the City of Manila on June 3, 2026.

The fund will be distributed to 4,426 Bagong Pilipinas Presidential Scholars from the six (6) districts of Manila, with each scholar receiving Php20,000.

HERE | Three beneficiaries of the 1st Mountain Province Provincial Mobile Force Company’s (MPPMFC) Educational Enhancement Program (EEP) successfully graduated from Mountain Province State University–Bontoc Campus on May 25, 2026.

This was shared by PLTCOL Sandoval Balnes, PSSg Lyshen Kaye Santiban, PCpl Norman Palangdan, and PCpl Randy Balata during a guest appearance on Radyo Kataguwan 97.3 FM in Bauko, Mountain Province on June 2, 2026.

The graduates were Ms. Trishia G. Antoniano, who earned a Bachelor of Secondary Education major in English and graduated cm laude; Ms. Jonie Ann C. Magumcia, who completed a Bachelor of Science in Criminology; and Mr. Jomari W. Duclan, who also earned a Bachelor of Science in Criminology.

At present, six students continue to benefit from the Educational Enhancement Program as they pursue their respective college degrees.

Through the EEP, MPPMFC personnel voluntarily provide monthly financial assistance and mentorship to deserving students, helping them pursue higher education and realize their aspirations. The program has supported beneficiaries who have completed degrees in Education, Information Technology, Criminology, and Medical Laboratory Science, among others.

Marcos Jr. joins Department of Education (DepEd) Secretary Juan Edgardo 'Sonny' Angara to lead the National Capital Region (NCR) Brigada Eskwela Kick-Off 2026 at Kapitbahayan Elementary School in Navotas City on June 2, 2026.

Carrying the theme 'Bayanihan sa Paaralan: Nagkakaisa para sa Kaayusan at Kaalaman,' this year’s Brigada Eskwela is being held nationwide from June 1 to 5 in preparation for the opening of classes on June 8, 2026.

During the event, President Marcos Jr. inspects ongoing school preparations and safety facilities, visits partner organizations’ booths, observes an ongoing 'Tara, Basa!' session that prepares Grade 2 learners to be grade-level ready, and participates in literacy activities, including a storytelling session with selected Grade 1 learners.

HERE | Miss Universe Mountain Province Lyneree Wly Montero Yodong was recognized by the Provincial Local Government Unit of Mountain Province for promoting the province’s culture and heritage as she competed as the province’s first-ever Miss Universe Philippines representative and for reaching the Top 30 in the 2026 national competition.

Through Resolution No. 2026-241, the Sangguniang Panlalawigan recognized her journey as a working mother and professional whose determination and perseverance have inspired many, particularly the youth and women of Mountain Province, to pursue their goals with confidence and dedication.

The resolution was presented during the First Monday Flag Raising Ceremony held today, June 1, 2026 at the Provincial Plaza in Poblacion, Bontoc.

Lyneree Yodong is a native of Sagada and a licensed medical laboratory scientist.
