๐ฏEmpowering Consumers: DTI-ESPO Conducts CARES Across Barangays in Oras, Eastern Samar
The Department of Trade and Industry- Eastern Samar Provincial Office (DTI-ESPO), through its Consumer Protection Division (CPD), successfully conducted a series of Consumer Awareness and Responsiveness Education Seminars (CARES) in selected barangays of Oras, Eastern Samar throughout June 2026.
The seminars were held in Barangays San Eduardo and San Roque on June 11; Barangays Balocawe and Pangudtan on June 15; Barangays Tawagan and Burak on June 16; and Barangay Dao on June 18, 2026.
The activity was spearheaded by Mrs. Ligaya C. Catuday, together with Mr. Isidro Aporto, Ms. Oishe O. Bula, and Mr. Relly Seciban, with the active participation of barangay officials, senior citizens, and community residents.
The CARES seminar aimed to strengthen consumer awareness by educating participants on their basic consumer rights and responsibilities, the Price Act (RA 7581), consumer protection laws, and various programs and services of the Department of Trade and Industry. The activity also served as a platform for addressing consumer concerns and encouraging responsible purchasing decisions.
Through continuous consumer education initiatives, DTI-ESPO remains committed to empowering communities and promoting a culture of informed and responsible consumerism throughout Eastern Samar.
