Empowering our community through technology!

In celebration of the 48th National Disability Rights Week, DICT Eastern Samar recently partnered with the Provincial Persons with Disabilities Affairs Office (PPDAO) for a three-day Digital Literacy Training last July 21–23, 2026.

Participants engaged in hands-on sessions designed to boost practical digital skills for everyday use and modern workplaces. The training covered key topics including:
• Cybersecurity Awareness – Best practices for staying safe online and protecting personal information.
• Introduction to AI – Understanding basic concepts and everyday applications of artificial intelligence.
• Microsoft Office Productivity Tools – Practical skills in MS Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.

Collaborations like this highlight the value of accessible tech education, ensuring everyone has the tools and confidence to navigate today’s digital landscape.

Strengthening cybersecurity begins with strengthening the people behind it.

Our 2-day Training on 𝐆𝐥𝐨𝐛𝐚𝐥 𝐊𝐧𝐨𝐰𝐥𝐞𝐝𝐠𝐞 𝐒𝐭𝐚𝐧𝐝𝐚𝐫𝐝𝐬, 𝐏𝐫𝐚𝐜𝐭𝐢𝐜𝐞𝐬, 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐓𝐞𝐜𝐡𝐧𝐨𝐥𝐨𝐠𝐢𝐞𝐬 𝐟𝐨𝐫 𝐂𝐲𝐛𝐞𝐫𝐬𝐞𝐜𝐮𝐫𝐢𝐭𝐲 𝐅𝐮𝐧𝐜𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧, 𝐆𝐨𝐯𝐞𝐫𝐧𝐚𝐧𝐜𝐞 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐌𝐚𝐧𝐚𝐠𝐞𝐦𝐞𝐧𝐭 has successfully concluded, bringing together IT personnel from various government agencies for two days of meaningful learning, collaboration, and knowledge sharing.

Throughout the training, participants gained valuable insights into globally recognized cybersecurity standards, governance frameworks, and emerging technologies that support the protection of critical information systems and digital services. The sessions also provided opportunities to exchange experiences and best practices, reinforcing the importance of a coordinated approach to cybersecurity across the public sector.

As government services continue to embrace digital transformation, initiatives like this play a vital role in building a capable, resilient, and security-conscious workforce committed to safeguarding public information and ensuring the delivery of secure and reliable digital services.

Day 1 is officially in the books for our training on "𝗚𝗹𝗼𝗯𝗮𝗹 𝗞𝗻𝗼𝘄𝗹𝗲𝗱𝗴𝗲 𝗦𝘁𝗮𝗻𝗱𝗮𝗿𝗱𝘀, 𝗣𝗿𝗮𝗰𝘁𝗶𝗰𝗲𝘀, 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗧𝗲𝗰𝗵𝗻𝗼𝗹𝗼𝗴𝗶𝗲𝘀 𝗳𝗼𝗿 𝗖𝘆𝗯𝗲𝗿𝘀𝗲𝗰𝘂𝗿𝗶𝘁𝘆 𝗙𝘂𝗻𝗰𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻, 𝗚𝗼𝘃𝗲𝗿𝗻𝗮𝗻𝗰𝗲 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗠𝗮𝗻𝗮𝗴𝗲𝗺𝗲𝗻𝘁."

We have a great group of IT professionals from various government agencies and state university joining us this week. Today's sessions focused on setting the baseline for modern digital governance and strengthening public sector security frameworks.

There is a lot of ground to cover, but the energy and collaboration in the room today were fantastic. Looking forward to day two!

That's a wrap! On July 8, 2026, we successfully concluded our training: "𝗔𝗜 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗙𝘂𝘁𝘂𝗿𝗲 𝗼𝗳 𝗗𝗶𝗴𝗶𝘁𝗮𝗹 𝗠𝗮𝗿𝗸𝗲𝘁𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗳𝗼𝗿 𝗠𝗦𝗠𝗘𝘀."
This intensive 20-day journey brought together local entrepreneurs to bridge the gap between traditional business and modern technology. The training was divided into two impactful phases:
𝟱 𝗗𝗮𝘆𝘀 𝗼𝗳 𝗙𝗮𝗰𝗲-𝘁𝗼-𝗙𝗮𝗰𝗲 𝗦𝗲𝘀𝘀𝗶𝗼𝗻𝘀 – Interactive, hands-on learning where participants mastered AI tools and digital marketing strategies.
𝟭𝟱-𝗗𝗮𝘆 𝗢𝗻𝗹𝗶𝗻𝗲 𝗖𝗮𝗺𝗽𝗮𝗶𝗴𝗻 – A practical, real-world application where trainees launched and managed their own digital campaigns to scale their businesses.
By equipping our local MSMEs with these modern marketing tools, we aren't just teaching tech—we are helping build more resilient, competitive, and self-reliant businesses ready for the future economy.
