Under the theme “Take courage! I have overcome the world” (John 16:33), we are invited to gather with millions of young pilgrims from every corner of the globe to encounter Christ, celebrate our Catholic faith, and build lifelong bonds of unity!

With deep sadness and profound gratitude, we honor the life and legacy of our beloved Youth Minister, Ate Fevie. Thank you for your years of untiring service to the ministry, your endless patience, and your selfless dedication to guiding young hearts closer to Christ. Your passion left an indelible mark on the community, and the seeds of faith you planted will continue to bloom for generations.

To the bereaved family, please know that the whole Commission on Youth family mourns your loss alongside you. We hold you tightly in our prayers during this time of immense grief, asking God to wrap you in His comforting embrace.

+ Requiem aeternam dona ei, Domine, et lux perpetua luceat ei.
Requiescat in pace. Amen.

May the choirs of angels come to greet you; may they speed you to paradise and welcome you into God’s eternal heavenly banquet. Rest now in the joy of the Master you served so well.

The Diocesan Commission on Youth of the Diocese of Borongan, together with members of the different religious congregations and the minor and major seminarians attended as Pilgrims of the Day during the First Novena Mass in honor of St. Clare of Assisi at the Poor Clare Monastery, Camada, Maydolong.

May the example of St. Clare inspire us to grow in faith, serve with humble hearts, and remain steadfast in our commitment to Christ.

The Commission on Youth recently joined hands with advocate groups, lay leaders, and some local officials for the Collaborative Dialogue on Strengthening Children and Youth Rights, Protections, and Promotions, hosted by the Diocesan Commission on Social Action - Justice and Peace and Caritas Borongan.

During the dialogue, participants delved into critical steps for child safety, beginning with understanding legal safeguards by laying out existing laws designed to uphold and defend the dignity of every child.

Beyond these laws, the discussion also provided emphasis on vigilance and prevention, which equipped participants to spot subtle warning signs, identify emotional or physical abuse early on, and take active measures before harm actually occurs.

Finally, the gathering laid out clear action and support pathways, which established safe an effective protocols for responding whenever abuse is suspected or reported, ensuring that there is swift justice, immediate protection, and long-term healing for victims.

It is often said that “it takes a village to raise a child,” but this dialogue reminded us of an equally vital truth: it takes an entire village to protect one.

Safeguarding our children cannot fall on parents or teachers alone. It demands an interconnected network-where local government, church ministries, advocate groups, and neighbors stay vigilant, speak up, and act in unity. When the community stands guard together, no child’s cry for help goes unheard.

As we carry this advocacy forward, we are reminded of these words from the bible:

“Train up a child in the way he should go, and even when he is old he will not depart from it.”— Proverbs 22:6

Let us remain vigilant, and unwavering in our duty to protect God’s little ones.
