Borongan City, Eastern Samar | July 28, 2026 โ The Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG) Eastern Samar, through its Provincial Project Development and Management Unit (PPDMU), conducted an Infrastructure Audit (IA) of the Old and New DILG Eastern Samar Provincial Office Buildings to evaluate their structural condition, functionality, safety, and overall readiness for continued public service.
The activity commenced with an orientation on the Infrastructure Audit (IA) Tool facilitated by Engr. Marjorie C. Capones and Engr. Jercel A. Beros. During the session, participants were introduced to the purpose, components, and assessment criteria of the IA Tool, providing them with a clear understanding of the audit methodology and the assessment standards.
Following the orientation, the participants were divided into two teams to conduct the on-site assessment of both office buildings. Using the prescribed IA Tool, the teams inspected various building components and documented their observations to determine the facilities' current condition and identify areas requiring maintenance, repair, or further improvement.
The activity is in compliance with DILG Memorandum Circular No. 2025-071, entitled "Policy Guidelines Enjoining Local Government Units in the Implementation of the Infrastructure Audit (IA) Program." The memorandum promotes the regular assessment of government infrastructure to ensure that public buildings remain safe, functional, resilient, and capable of delivering efficient services to employees and the public.
Through this initiative, DILG Eastern Samar continues to strengthen its commitment to institutionalizing preventive infrastructure management, ensuring compliance with national policies, and maintaining government facilities that support quality public service delivery.
