TODAY || March 26, 2026

In line with the celebration of Rabies Awareness Month with the theme: “Rabies-Free na Pusa’t A*o, Kaligtasan ng Pamilyang Pilipino" the Municipal Agriculture Office, headed by Municipal Agriculturist Mr. Roseller Fanilag, successfully conducted an Information Education Campaign (IEC) activity on Rabies Awareness at Caatihan National High School in Brgy. Caatihan, Boston, Davao Oriental.

The discussion was led by our Livestock Coordinator, Mr. Archy M. Macabante who shared valuable information on rabies prevention, responsible pet ownership, and the importance of vaccination.

We extend our heartfelt gratitude to Ma’am Emma L. Manaytay, School Head, along with the teachers and students, for their warm participation and full cooperation.

Together, let us continue working towards a safe and rabies-free community.💚🐾🐕‍🦺

Happening Today | September 24, 2025

The Municipal Agriculture Office, together with the Municipal Social Welfare and Development Office (MSWDO), facilitated the distribution of Tilapia fingerlings to the 14 beneficiary associations under the LAWA at BINHI Project of DSWD. Alongside this activity, an orientation on PCIC programs was also conducted at our office.

We extend our gratitude to BFAR Regional Director Relly B. Garcia and Provincial Fishery Officer Jefferson L. Montera for providing the tilapia fingerlings, and to Sir Edmund Villaflor of the Philippine Crop Insurance Corporation (PCIC) for leading the re-orientation on Fisheries Insurance to ensure our fisherfolk are protected from potential risks.

Together, we continue to support and empower our local associations towards sustainable fisheries and secured livelihoods. 🌊🐟💚

The Boston Fisherfolk Livelihood Association (BOSFILA) has successfully carried out its bangus harvest, with a total of 4,340 kilograms. This milkfish production project is under the Special Area for Agricultural Development (SAAD) Program of the Department of Agriculture RFO-XI in collaboration with the Bureau of Fisheries and Aquatic Resources Region XI (BFAR XI) and Provincial Fishery Office (PFO) led by Provincial Fishery Officer, Jefferson L. Montera.

This activity was made possible through the strong support of the Local Government Unit of Boston headed by Municipal Mayor, Hon. Rowell F. Rosit and the Municipal Agriculture Office headed by Municipal Agriculturist, Roseller T. Fanilag. The initiative reflects the government’s continuous efforts to enhance aquaculture production, strengthen community-based livelihoods, and ensure sustainable fisheries development in the municipality.

The Boston Rural Fisherfolk Development Association (BORFIDA) successfully conducted its second harvest under their Milkfish Production Project. A total of 3,356 kilos of milkfish were harvested, marking another milestone in the association’s ongoing efforts to boost local aquaculture productivity and improve fisherfolk livelihoods.

We extend our heartfelt gratitude to the Bureau of Fisheries and Aquatic Resources (BFAR-XI) headed by Regional Director Relly B. Garcia, Provincial Fishery Officer Jefferson L. Montera, to our MFARMC and Executive Assistant II Judith B. Castres and to our Municipal Agriculturist Roseller T. Fanilag for their continuous guidance and support.

A special thanks to our ever-supportive Municipal Mayor, Hon. Rowell F. Rosit for his unwavering commitment that led to the success of this livelihood project.

Biggest Harvest Challenge at the Kadiwa ng Ani at Kita Agri-trade Fair!
