In preparation for the implementation of the Academic Recovery and Accessible Learning Program for SY: 2026-2027, Dugong Elementary School through the leadership of Mrs. Catherine A. Peig- Principal I, conducted an ARAL Program Orientation for teachers, tutors and parents.

The activity aimed to provide a clear understanding of the DepEd ARAL Program, guidelines and implementation mechanics for this school year.

The principal discussed the importance of ARAL in helping learners who were identified through CRLA, PHILIRI and RMA assessments to catch up on fundamental literacy and numeracy skills.

Mrs. Peig presented the class schedules, teacher/tutor assignments and instructional strategies that will be used during the ARAL sessions for KS1 and KS2.

Parents and guardians were also oriented on their role in supporting their children's participation and to do follow-up at home.

With the collaboration of the SH, teachers, tutors, parents and stakeholders, Dugong ES is ready to implement ARAL Program and provide learners the intervention they need to improve their reading, Math and Science skills.

In observance of National Disaster Resilience Month (NDRM) 2026 and pursuant to Executive Order No. 29, s. 2017, Dugong Elementary School conducted a series of activities aimed at promoting disaster preparedness, safety awareness, and environmental responsibility.
Among the activities undertaken were:
โœ… Clean-Up Drive within the school premises to maintain a clean, safe, and healthy environment and to reduce potential disaster risks.
โœ… Updating of the DRRM Bulletin Board and posting of School Hazard Map and Evacuation Plan to provide learners, teachers, and stakeholders with current and relevant information on disaster risk reduction and management and to increase awareness on safe evacuation routes and emergency procedures during disasters.
โœ…Installation of "Leaners and Schools as Zones of Peace Tarpaulin" demonstrating the support of the school for a culture of peace, safety, and disaster preparedness.

These activities highlight the school's commitment to fostering a culture of preparedness, resilience, and collective responsibility. Through active participation and continuous awareness efforts, we contribute to building a safer and more disaster-resilient community.

In observance of Cordillera Day and in support of BSP Council Memorandum No. 13, s. 2026, learners of Dugong Elementary School actively participated in a tree-planting activity today, July 16, 2026, in line with the simultaneous environmental initiative marking the 80th Abra BSP Council Charter Anniversary.

The activity was spearheaded by the school's teaching personnel, with the enthusiastic participation of the Boy Scouts, Girl Scouts, and officers of various learner organizations, including the Barkada Kontra Droga (BKD), Youth for Environment in Schools Organization (YES-O), and the Supreme Elementary Learner Government (SELG). Together, they demonstrated their commitment to environmental stewardship through the planting of tree seedlings.

More than fulfilling the requirements of the BSP memorandum, the activity became an opportunity to strengthen environmental responsibility, teamwork, and volunteerism among the learners.

By involving different school organizations, Dugong Elementary School fostered a collective sense of care for nature while encouraging active participation in community-based environmental programs.

The tree-planting activity reflects Dugong Elementary School's unwavering support for environmental conservation and its commitment to nurturing environmentally responsible learners as the school joins the celebration of Cordillera Day and the 80th Abra BSP Council Charter Anniversary.

Today, our learners took an active role in promoting school safety by participating in the Student-Led School Watching and Hazard Mapping Activity. Through careful observation and assessment, they identified potential hazards and helped develop a better understanding of risks within the school environment.

Dugong Elementary School's First Holy Spirit Mass for School Year 2026โ€“2027

With grateful hearts, the Dugong Elementary School family officially commenced the School Year 2026โ€“2027 through the celebration of the First Holy Spirit Mass, presided over by Father John Vasquez of Our Lady of Lourdes Parish.
The Holy Mass served as a meaningful opportunity for our learners, teachers, school personnel, and stakeholders to seek God's guidance, wisdom, protection, and abundant blessings as we begin another year of teaching and learning.
May the Holy Spirit continue to inspire us to grow in faith, knowledge, love, and service as we work together in nurturing every learner toward a brighter future.
